Bazzite gamescope-session-plus

Is it possible to replicate Bazzite's version of gamescope-session-plus (and all the required scripts) on a desktop pc running fedora 42? Is there any repo I can use? I tried https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/bazzite-org/bazzite/package/gamescope-session-plus/ but it seems to me it only has the gamescope-session-plus package that basically only adds gamescope-session-plus to my /usr/bin/ folder. I hoped It included all needed files. I have Bazzite on my htpc and would like to have a session starting the "steam gaming mode" on my desktop too....

HDMI Audio - HDTV, output works in desktop but not in gaming mode

I’m stumped here. I am able to see my audio output and it functions just fine when in desktop mode, and I also do not see the ability to disable any devices in system settings , though I do only have one device for audio output. When my gaming mode is on, it just does not seem to output any audio, I did have to make a change to change my primary monitor to my HDMI TV which works totally fine , via the docs instructions, but somehow there’s just no audio output at all to the TV, even though the HDMI audio device is detected both in steam gaming mode and in desktop mode.
My monitor has no audio, so my DVI monitor is audioless and my hdmi tv has audio and video output through hdmi. The audio I refer to when in desktop mode uses that same output which is out through the tv speakers....

Unity issues in distrobox

I have set up unity by creating a fedora-toolbox distrobox, and installed Rider IDE in the same distrobox. on the surface it looks like it works as intended, but unity does not save the preferences and also seems to have issues interfacing with steam for steamInput, it also does not detect any controllers that weren't already plugged in before i launched it....

Solution:

it turned out that the folder ~/.local/share/unity3d did not exist, this made the cache and other temporary files not work

LibreOffice file permissions

I've added /mnt to the file system permissions for libreoffice in flatseal. However files open as read only and trying to save to the network share mounted in /mnt results in this error. What step am I missing?

Solution:

Added ",uid=1000,gid=1000" after the credentials file.

Unable to enable automatic updates for desktop?

Hi there. I was checking out the website for help on how to update my system (using a desktop version), and it says things should update automatically. Just to be sure, I performed a manual update with ujust update and there was a heck of an update to download. I suspected something was wrong with the automatic updates, and so I ran rpm-ostree status -v and it says AutomaticUpdates: disabled at the top. I've tried running ujust _toggle-updates, selecting enable, then rebooting but that doesn't change anything. I've also tried looking at the previous issues in these forums, but I didn't find any that applied to me. There were others having troubles with automatic updates, but their underlying issues seemed different. Can someone help me enable automatic updates for my system? Please let me know if I can provide any more information....

Rounded Keyboard theme from CSSLoader makes the keyboard's side go off the screen.

Not sure if this is an issue with the theme, CSSLoader, or Bazzite, so I'm opening this here since I'm kinda stumped on where to ask. (and I have yet to get an answer in the CSSLoader server for over a day now, so.)

Emulation help

Ok so ill try to explain best I can. I have a rog ally x with bazzite installed. I'm using emudeck and esde. When I launch esde from desktop mode rpcs3 the embeded controller works fine. But when launching through steam in desktop mode or gaming mode the embeded controller wont work. Also this is only the case when using rpcs3. Does anyone know a fix? Been working on this for days.

entire computer locking up, don't know where to start troubleshooting

Hey, I installed Bazzite a couple months ago, and everything has been going pretty smoothly, except that two or three times now the entire machine has frozen up.
Because nothing is responsive, I don't even know how to start troubleshooting this. Are there error logs somewhere I can get to once I restart?
I'm sorry this isn't much detail, but I don't know how to GET that detail right now. I guess that's the question: how do I get more detail?...

Animations and desktop running at low Hz

Hi! I just installed Bazzite on my PC, but I feel like the screen animations are slow. I have a 144Hz monitor, but everything feels like it’s running at 30Hz. Is there any solution? Could I be missing a driver? I don’t know why it feels like this, but it’s really uncomfortable....

Mounting SMB shares fails both ways, fstab and systemd

For ages I used to mount SMB shares on my NAS with an simple entry in /etc/fstab:

//192.168.2.2/uXXX  /home/xxx/mnt/uXXX  cifs  vers=2.0,credentials=/home/xxx/.smbcredentials,iocharset=utf8,gid=1000,uid=1000,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777 0 1

And all was fine, in Ubuntu, Debian, EndeavorOS. But with Bazzite, it mounts but gives the well known and yet totally cryptic "This program is not installed setuid root - "user" CIFS mounts not supported." ...

Solution:

/home is symlinked from /var/home. Try the full path for systemd. For the fstab mount, you probably need to set the right ownership and permissions for the folder and credentials.

Hello, I've set up my screens in bazzite yet the notifications show up on the wrong(not main) monitor. And also when starting the pc the login is also focussed on the wrong monitor. how do i set it up right?...

i had to dissable the notification tray icon on my 2nd screen and enable the one on my main monitor

Games locked at 60 FPS?

I installed Bazzite a week ago and well. I like it. But I got an Issue with my Frames. Games don't go past 60 FPS. None. All cap at 60 and I can't do anything about it. I can't find any fix online. Can someone help me please? Don't want to go back to Windows....
