Error when trying to boot the installer

Hi, I am trying to install Bazzite from a bootable USB stick and it results in the screens in the images bellow https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1114161275702874122/1426916028285194460/IMG_20251012_105815.jpg https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/395028838985498626/1426877391413968946/IMG_20251012_110001.jpg I have seen mention of a fix that involves the XHCI setting in BIOS, but i can't find such a setting in my old HP motherboard's bios. It probably doesn't help that it's also in French....

Dark videos

Anyone have any idea why any videos I play, not matter the player, are darker than they should be. Screen is fine. Everything else is the brightness it should be. Other apps. Multiple browsers. Youtube videos are fine, Netflix is fine. Crucnhyroll is fine. Happens with VLC, mpv, Haruna, Clapper, Light Video, etc. mpv is actually a little brighter than vlc, but still much too dark....

Stuck in emergency mode After formatting a game partition

Hello. So I had a game partition on a second SSD that was in NTFS, that I formatted to ext4 in bazzite. The disk, and especially the partition, was used purely to install games and not for bazzite nor windows. Since then, I'm stuck in emergency mode (with root account locked) when I try to boot to bazzite, both in ostree 0 and 1. What did I do wrong, and how can I fix this ? Thanks !...

New to Bazzite and Linux in general. A few questions please..

(I tried to post on the bazzite reddit but every time the post just said it was removed by reddits filters and I have no idea why?) Hi, I'm coming from windows and glad to be rid of its ever-increasing nonsense. I have dual-booted to Bazzite to dip my toes in without burning bridges. To Bazzite's credit I have hardly gone back to the Win partition for the last month now and I am pretty happy with it as far as replacing an OS can go. I mostly play games so that was important and why I decided to make the plunge to Linux for Bazzite specifically. HOWEVER. In a way bazzite makes me feel like I'm back in the windows98/xp days trying out a version people have debloated, which, while successfully making it smaller, now half of whats in it doesn't run properly. It really does give me that feeling. Now I can expect 99% of my problems are stemming from just not knowing how Linux does things, but there does seem to be some things that just don't work or seem to be purposeful decisions that end up making things harder than it needs to be. Anyway I'll stop rambling and get to it. ...

Decky in Steam Desktop

Hey, I'm asking this here as I've seen unust installation for decky Surprisingly it also worked with their official installation so I'm not sure what's the difference Question being is how can I make it work when not in Fullscreen gaming mode, I haven't seen the option pop up in steam nor where to configure it...

Steam deck unable to transmit audio to external source

So I plugged in my headphones just now, and no audio comes from it only the deck speakers. Not entirely sure if I did something wrong but help would be appreciated

No audio on TV with GPD Win Max 2 in game mode

I try changing the output device but there one that make no sound and one that have the sound coming out of the computer. I tried in desktop mode and there 4 output device that have the same name but a different number at the end and one of them worked, but still not in gaming mode. Also tried to reset pulseaudio and restart

Create nix distrobox

Anyone have any success setting up a nixos distrobox container, or just a distrobox with nix in general? I originally tried to put nix ontop of a container image, but the installer I was using (https://docs.determinate.systems/) keeps trying to configure selinux from inside the container and breaking. So now I was trying to install nixos directly using their docker image (distrobox create --image nixos/nix:latest --name nix-dev), but when trying to enter it gives me this error: ```superricky@2400-a840-5128-0-56ba-9573-97a7-59cd:~$ distrobox enter nix-dev Error: could not start entrypoint. + stat /run/host/etc/shadow ++ stat -c %u /run/host/etc/shadow...

Weird Razer BlackShark V2 Pro volume & OSD issues on Bazzite KDE

Hey guys, gals, and everything in between. I’m running into a strange issue with my Razer BlackShark V2 Pro on Bazzite (NVIDIA image, KDE Plasma, PipeWire). 1. On-Screen Display not showing: - When I adjust the volume using the headset’s USB dongle knob, the volume does change, but the OSD doesn’t appear. - I tried switching USB ports and even connecting via Bluetooth, but the OSD still doesn’t show....

Moving Steam Installation

I'm new to Linux as a whole, coming from just Windows, so I am still learning what is safe to do with the os. My overall goal is figuring out how to mod both steam and non-steam games, and have that all being done on a dedicated drive separate from the bazzite installation drive. Setting up the steam and non-steam libraries was easy so I've moved to figuring out modding. So far the tools I've found (MO2/Vortex through Steam Proton or Bottles) requires the mod manager to install in a prefix, which is in the Steam installation which in the Home directory. As I understand it, the Home directory is on the bazzite installation drive. Is there any danger in just moving Steam to my other drive? Do I just need to manually tell Steam where it's been moved to, and reset my launch icons? Is there some tool in bazzite for relocating preinstalled apps? While I'm here, is there any difference between moving Steam and moving a flatpak like Heroic? Which is what I'm using for non-steam games....

Choppy Gaming at even low quality

I've been having choppy gameplay issues on my PC as of late. I've been trying to play Dying Light, and it's basically stop-motion at the default HIGH texture setting. I've tried turning it to LOW and it seems even worse. My specs are as follows: ASUS ROG Strix B450-F motherboard AMD Ryzen 5 5600G (6-core 12-thread)...

Root account locked

I need a wizard to help me at this point. I probably bricked my system but I cannot figure out what is going wrong. Context: machine was originally set up as dual boot- dual drive. NVME with bazzite, and SATA with windows. I decided I dont even want windows anymore, so SATA got formatted. When I rebooted, the PC no longer boots into NVME. Another detail I noticed when booting from the NVME, the grub menu still reflects the original state with the windows boot drive. ...

Having very wonky issues with Bazzite

I'll lay it out in steps so I can organize how I've experienced the problems as a process: 1. Booted from Windows into Bazzite only to find, in Gaming Mode, there's no audio. My audio device is set to the HDMI/DP output so that's proper. I went into desktop mode after checking. 2. Every time I try to go back to gaming mode, it reverts back to desktop mode and I'm signed out of Steam. Tried three times. 3. Updated Bazzite in desktop mode, rebooted. It loaded into Windows. Suddenly my monitor screens are all like 20% darker, in both Windows and Bazzite. Brightness is maxed on both though. 4. Initiate switch to Bazzite from the batch file I like to use (sidenote: sometimes it loops back to Windows and then I try again and it goes to Steam gaming mode on Bazzite)....

Question.

Does the Clean Steam Shortcuts option clear the Return to Gamemode and (added by me) Trash icons? Those disappearing wouldn’t be good. Also, would there be any way to make it so animated artwork on the covers of games (added by the user or via SteamGridDB) doesn’t cause extreme stuttering/lag while a game with that is selected?...

Keyboard Input Latency while Gaming

Wine Flatpak vs Wine DL from Lutris

Hi, I'm wondering if the wine I download from Lutris is the same as the flatpak version from Bazaar, or does it have more permissions since it is downloaded from a pre-installed program? With the flatpak version of wine I can use flatseal to restrict internet access. When I do this does it also restrict internet access to the lutris version? Is there anyway natively to monitor this myself, CLI or other app?...
