"Open Terminal here" issues
I'm having the oddest behavior around terminal
if I "open terminal here" on a folder the first time, it won't cd to that folder and stay at ~
but if I do it a second time it cd correctly
i.e "open terminal here" only works if there's already a terminal running

Xbox One Controller recognized by Steam, controller and inputs do not work in any game
As title says. Plugging controller in with USB-C and no batteries in controller. Have used it this way for many months like this on Linux Mint. When plugging the controller in, Bazzite makes the notification sound that a USB device has been plugged in and the X logo lights up. Steam shows the controller in settings and all of the inputs show up/work in the testing window. Upon launching any games, the controller does not work.
Dolphin never prompts for smb user password
I have some smb shares on Unraid. When I access these shares through Dolphin I never get a prompt for a password. It seems like it defaults to a generic account and can get into the shares with read only access. It never prompts me for a password event when I specify the user in the host path with
smb://dre@<ip-address>/share
I confirmed it works properly through terminal with smbclient where it actually asks for my password. I'm not sure if this is a bug or something configured incorrectly....
Solution:
So it seems if Unraid SMB share is set to Secure security setting it defaults to guest. When I set security to Private it will present a login prompt.

i flashed my touchscreen to native portrait to fix input lag but now my touchscreen is not aligned properly. how can i reinstall the goodix touchscreen drivers?

Nvidia live image doesn't seem to load driver, runs in software rendering mode
So with the live ISO betas available, I downloaded the Gnome image so I could try it out without having to wipe and reinstall my system. The image was able to boot to the GNOME desktop, but I noticed there was no desktop effects and the refresh rate was locked to 60hz despite me having a 360hz monitor that works on my installed KDE setup.
Checking the Gnome settings and looking into the system info applet there, it seems the live session was reporting the GPU as a Software Renderer, not the RTX 4070 Ti Super that's currently in my system. Seems like that the live session doesn't load the Nvidia driver, which hurts the live image experience folks trying it out. Is this a bug, or is it a limitation of how the live session works?...
Why is bazzite using 5 gigabytes of ram in the background
I installed bazzite and noticed strait away that ram usage was unusually high. now it is ok and has dropped down to 3 gigabyts but when i open steam ram usage goes to 6 gigs. When i was using fedora kinoite i had none of these issues. Please help what process can i remove to make steam lighter.

Steam KB acting weird on desktop
The special symbols don't work for me, I've tried an external keyboard and it works perfectly, it only happens in desktop mode

Ok, it's not that I can't write them, it's some of them that either aren't written or for example the @ Acts as a down arrow/tab or something like that, I don't understand anything

Hello, at some point waydroid prompted me to let it update and so I did. When it was done, it updated to Android 13 and my game no longer worked. I rested the container to do everything from scratch but waydroid installed with android 13 and the game still doesn't work. How can I get back to Android 11?
Elgato Wave3 not working on Bazzite
I have recently started using Bazzite, and am currently trying to get my peripherals setup and functional.
I know the Elgato Wave software itself is only available on Windows and Mac, so I wasn't expecting to have access to that at all.

Monster Hunter Wilds crashing on startup
Hi! I've recently installed bazzite on my laptop (cyborg 15 A12V) and Monster Hunter Wilds did not work once since I switched from windows 11, on which it worked surprisingly well (decent framerate with graphics and shadow quality set to high and framegen).
When I open the game, it freezes my entire laptop, forcing me to force shut down the entire thing. It always happens at two different moments during loading, depending on the proton version I've tried using: either during the shader compiling or straight after, as soon as the health warning comes on screen.
This is very strange, since once again, this has never been a problem on windows.
Additionally, I was told that using "gamemodrun %command%" helped, but each time I've tried opening the game with it, the launch sequence stopped before the game started running. Is there some setup that I've missed after installing bazzite that is preventing me from using launch options?...

Screen resolution
How to get current screen resolution in Steam games on desktop PC with Bazzite OS? In game resolution doesn't match screen resolution. It's only smaller such as 1280x720, 1366x768 or 1440x1080 at best. Tried on XIII, The Final Station, Half Life Blueshift or Opposing Force.
Chromium based apps "freeze" when playing certain games

Long system loading time
Hey all. Just installed bazzite to my lenovo legion and everything works great from the box. But one thing that really bothers me is system loading time. It's around 20-30 seconds. Lenovo logo blinks two times, and on the third time it's there with a bazzite little loader. After that i can see log in screen.
So any tips on decreasing system load time are much appreciated! 🙇♂️...
