Fuzzy Frametime graph after last Bazzite/Steam update

When I display Bazzite on my TV, just as on this screen, after the last update, Frametime graph started to show quickly oscillating frametimes, up to 31ms. Before, the graph was completely flatline in all games I've tested, like Tekken 8, MH World, Battlefront 2. Now it's fuzzy like this :/...

Solution:

After two months of having problem with it, after updating Bazzite today, the problem with fuzzy Frametime graph disappeared. Not sure what changed in the update, if it was MangoHud bug or AMD driver issue....

system update in game mode

When will the ability to update the system in game mode return? Now steam tells me that there are no updates, and I have to go to TTY2 and enter the command "ujust update" there

How do I install programs outside of Bazaar?

I have a few programs that I am trying to install on bazzite that I am now lost on how to install. They are compatible with Linux so I know that's not the issue. Specifically I have the .Deb files and tar.gz files for things, however I am unsure how to install them after looking online. One program in particular that I am trying to do is discord because installing from the Bazzar does not allow for discord to pick up games I am playing. I thought I figured it out the other night until I launched...

zram compression algorithm

I saw the github issue where bazzite switched back to lz4 from zstd for zram compression, because lz4 has less latency and more responsiveness however people also mentioned with <12GB RAM the compression benefit of zstd starts to outweigh the latency benefit of zstd... should I switch back to zstd? my machine only has 8GB of RAM also I'm pretty sure using zstd means more strain on your CPU?...

battery health

hello everyone! i need a bit of help understanding the battery life indication. im on a legion go with bazzite installed, and was wondering if 93% means that my battery is losing its life? i have been experiencing a lot of battery drain as well, even in sleep mode.

Bazzite booting into emergency mode.

Hi all, I rebooted my ROG ally X today and it dropped me straight into emergency mode no matter which ostree I select. I am dual voting with windows. I’ve tried mounting nvme partitions but could only find a partition with /boot and /ostree on it. I have secure boot and fast boot both disabled. I’ve changed absolutely nothing on the system. Any help hugely appreciated I’ve been struggling with this over the last couple hours!...

Issues installing dual boot

Hi all, Trying to install bazzite on a 2nd drive while keeping windows on another drive. I downloaded and moved over the iso files to a USB. It boots into the install, I hit enter in install, it runs into "unknown error" and get stuck...

How to middle-click on ASUS ROG Ally X?

Hi! I've been recently trying to use Blender on my Ally X. And it would've actually worked quite well, were it not for Blender's hard requirement of there being a middle-click function. So I'm wondering: Is there a way to set up a middle-click on Bazzite running on an ASUS ROG Ally X? Perhaps pressing both RB and RT while in Desktop Mode?

Solution:

KDE's Mouse settings offer an option that lets you middle-click by pressing left and right click at the same time.

Global (system level) push to talk

Just moved to Bazzite, and finding it wonderfully easy out of the box, aside from one thing - on Windows I used a program called Talk Toggle which provided a "global" push to talk (i.e. keeps the microphone muted at a system level unless a specific key is held, which is useful for having the same PTT key everywhere, and being able to use it in programs without native PTT or which don't support binding F13 or other keys not on a standard keyboard). Is there a way of replicating this in Bazzite? Current ideas (each of which I'm missing some knowledge for at the moment):...

MPV config location

I'm new to Linux and trying to find out where the mpv.conf file is located so I can mess with it a bit. I've tried searching for the location but all I'm getting are locations that either do not exist on my PC or to folders that are empty... The official site manual says it could be in /usr/local/etc/mpv/mpv.conf, but the /etc/ folder is completely empty. Then it says most Linux distributions will set it to /etc/mpv, but there's no mpv folder in /etc/. Some reddit threads say it's in /.config/mpv/ but I can't for the life of me figure out where that even is. I tried just searching "mpv" in Dolphin but none of the results look right. I installed MPV via Bazaar, if that matters....

Bazaar freezes then crashes

I just installed bazzite, and when I launch bazaar it loads, then freezes after a second, then crashes. What should I do to fix this?

Terminal commands not working

I was trying out this project (https://github.com/bakustarver/rpgmakermlinux-cicpoffs) to run RPGM games under linux. I was able to get it to work, but now my terminal/shell @ has changed from bazzite to something else and I can't run ujust commands. I uninstalled the program, which was removed sucessfully, and rebooted my system but it didn't seem to have any effect.

Pda+net wifi problem

Hi. I want to use Bazzite, but due to work circumstances, I can't get local fixed internet for my laptop. So I use my cell phone data as internet, usually on Windows. I use PDA+NET in Wi-Fi mode, and it works fine. I installed Bazzite, but when I tried to use the PDA, it gave me limited connectivity. I've tried every means to solve the problem. I saw that in Ubuntu, it's solved by simply setting the app's proxy in the network option, which hasn't worked for me. But the funny thing is that if I set the proxy in Firefox, the internet works like a charm. The only thing I need to start experimenting with Bazzite is for this to work, so I can update the system and start configuring everything. Has anyone heard about this problem or have anything you can help me with? I would really appreciate it....

ROG Ally Bazzite Boot Fail

Hi guys, I am using Bazzite on my ROG Ally but each time I install it and it says completed, Im brought right back into my bios with no Bazzite to boot into. What am I doing wrong?
