Issues with database.. I think
Hi, relatively new to immich and loving it so far. Since Monday I've been having major issues, I can't upload, and many files have become inaccessible.
- When I try to upload, usually two will 'succeed' and the remainder all fail.
- Those that 'succeed' will show up as 'Error Loading Image' and are not actually accessible.
There are also lots of other quirks, random images that won't load, image metadata that I can't edit, etc....
Sync album mobile on android
I am trying to understand how the "sync" of an android phone works with immich.
I have set a a template to save all folders / photos I upload but when it comes to the phone backup I reaad that it should be possible to sync the albums in the phone and htat new albums should be synced on the server and I dont see any of that happenining.
Here is the template i defined for the albums: {{y}}/{{#if album}}{{album}}{{else}}Other/{{y}}{{MM}}{{/if}}/{{filename}} is that blocking the system from generating the folders from android?
I did activate the beta sync feature. Should I take it down?
Is there anythting else I should be looking at?... thanks!...
One import path scanned, the other has not
After hours of trying, I've managed to get one import path scanned.
I'm passing this through via smb from another lxc, and while it might not be advised, it's working very well.
It's the parent folder that I've made available through smb, and the folder inside that is what I've added as an import path....
Backing Up to an External Drive
Hi
I have used immich for a while now but not done a backup of immich and all my contents. I can see that Borg is advised for this but is there other programs or Docker containers that can be used to do this and is there specific paths that need to be backed up to make sure I have access to them? Also does it backup all the images and videos I have in immich or just the metadata?
I have my server on my Network but want to use a Docker container like Restic to backup my immich so that I have another backup of all my photos and videos. The external drive tho will me connected to my Mac Studio and Ill look to update everyday...
New user - a couple of setup questions
Hey there, so I thought I'd set Immich up correctly, but it appear that I had not stated the correct path to the desired upload folder on my external 8tb hard drive, so:
1. Am I able to move all of my images from the folder that currently houses the images on my local SSD, to the desired folder on my External drive, if so, how.
2. If not, how do I go about deleting this library and starting again....
How to get rid of accidentally imported thumbnails?

i am using unraid with immich unraid-app. So far everything great 🙂
After some issues i had to reinstall immich and re-import everything (not via backup/restore, but manual copy and paste/import via file manager). During the copy of the data before re-import, i also found some cryptical folders (a bunch of letters and numbers) which i also did copy and then did import to immich, just to be sure to not miss anything (result would be instant-death by angry wife).
Later i found out that these folders (which immich did automatically create somehow) did contain thumbails (thousands of small size files) which are now imported (with option create folder)....
Immich does not pick up new date/metadata from (some) video files
I run immich in a container with my collection mounted as read-only volume.
The collection is added as external library in immich.
This seems to work very well for most things. However, some video files have been indexed with incorrect dates. Now, this may be because of some of the following reasons:...
All jobs getting stuck after external library files changed
I updated the metadata on a bunch of files in an external directory (removing extra tags added by digikam), and all of the immich jobs stopped after a while. It isn't using any CPU, and there aren't any unusual messages in the logs as far as I can tell. I'm not sure if photos are missing from the timeline or not, but I don't see anything obvious. I've restarted the containers several times with no significant changes. I upgraded from version 1.135.2 to 1.140.1 after the first few times.
Photos showing with wrong date
I imported my photo library into immich via my iPhone. When I look through the timeline, there are quite a few photos under incorrect dates. One for example is under 10th Aug 2025 when it should be 2 Feb 2025. There are many other examples. What could cause this? And is there a fix I could try?
Struggling to understand what bottlenecks the thumbnail generation process
I am using Immich in a docker, I gave all the immich docker services about 16gb of ram. I have no GPU so it's running on a 8700K for generating thumbnails.
Outside of the initial batch which I knew would take long, i'm finding even adding small folders takes a long time. I added a 25ish image folder (always using external folders) and it is taking forever. I don't even see my resources maxed out. I turned off all machine learning services too, The drive is not a network drive. I just have 47 thumbnails to generate that is taking way too long and i'm not sure how to figure out what the chokepoint is (or just straight up stuck)
Hit the word limit with this so included docker compose + env file in pastebin...
HTTPS impossible on MacOS?
I'm trying to setup HTTPS also with Cloudflare, but I can't follow the instructions on this page: https://immich-distribution.nsg.cc/configuration/https/
because I must run this on a Mac (for various reasons), and I don't have the "snap" command that this seems to imply that I need....
iOS: Unable to backup 1 asset with no name or ID but has Oct 4th, 2020 date

new storage location
Hi. i've looked through past issues nad even though some seemed similar the cases were ever so slightly different.
So, i want to tell Immich to store all my back-ups to other location than default.
can't seem to manage that.
changed the ocation in the .env file. went to docker and authorised the new location. nothing works. server works only with default location.
Can you please give me some guidance? i am a total beginner with linux....
OAuth login hangs *after* auth succeeds
I'm a new Immich user and setup (in a local nomad cluster) went smooth. Also setting up OAuth with Zitadel and behind WAF Bunkerweb (with external https domain) worked well. However, suddenly, login via the external domain with OAuth stopped working:
1. log out of Zitadel (for clean SSO test) -> OK
2. go to
immich.mydomain.net -> OK
3. choose user in Zitadel SSO (I have autoLaunch=1) -> OK
4. Observe Immich Login Logo and button "Login with OAuth" with a permanent spinner -> hangs (with redirected URL https://immich.****.***/auth/login?continue=%2Fphotos...HDR not displaying correctly on iOS app and web
Does immich support displaying iOS HDR photos in the app or web? A comparisson between the photos inside the immich app and the iOS Photos app shows that HDR is not represented correctly on immich. For videos on the app I'm aware a new player is being worked on, but should photos display HDR?
Same via the web interface. No HDR on photos (tested on Safari and Firefox) but videos display HDR ok....
Restoring Backup
Hello, I'm trying to restore a backup from a autocreated sql.gz file after gziping I get the following errors. If I dont do the gzip the container starts up fine. Im using unraid if this matters. I appreciate any help
Immich seems to pull from filedata and not metadata on import.
Long story short I am uploading a large number of photos to immich. When uploading, at times, it seems that immich is organizing based on file information and not metadata. In Lightroom, metadata has the correct created/taken date and time. A simple "Properties" view in Windows shows a created date that is different and that seems to be how immich is organizing it. Is there a setting I am missing that is causing this to happen? TIA.
restoring library in LXC
Hi all, i have a bit of a doozy. I am running Immich in ax LXC using the proxmox helper script. I took it upon myself to mount my unraid share as /opt/immich/upload (probably frowned upon?) and it worked fine for quite a while. then i started getting an odd error where the ML service was binding to the web interface port so i destroyed the LXC and recreted it. the problem now is that the libraries which were showing up fine the first time i set up the app this way are no longer showing in Immich...
Lots of data duplication after restoring from a disk
I had an issue where my data got deleted permanantly. So I recovered from an offsite backup which was 2 months old. Then I uploaded my phone data which was not yet uploaded. Then I recovered using photorec or whatever as much as I could from the old disk. I used CLI to upload.
However, it shows that there are over a hundred thousand non-duplicates. This is very incorrect....
iOS Live photos no sound
My iOS live photos appear to have no sound in immich - just the moving images. Am I doing something wrong or is this a limitation?
