iOS Live photos no sound
My iOS live photos appear to have no sound in immich - just the moving images. Am I doing something wrong or is this a limitation?
External library as main?
I couldn't see anything about this in the docs - I have immich setup on my NAS now, I had to add an external library path to my main photos folder in order to get them to show up (different volume). So far so good. Currently it's creating thumbnails. Can I use this as my main photo library in immich and have my iPhone backup from here?
Face recognition and multiple accounts
Hello, I have my self-hosted Immich (docker, linux Mint) and I have two accounts, for me and for my partner. We both have app on the phone and we both upload all the photos from the phone to Immich under own account. We both can see all the photos, as we both have turned on the option to see photos of partner.
But I understand that facial recognition is not done on all photos together but separately per account, so there is not possible to display for example photos of my mum from both our accounts (phones). Am I right? is there some workaround?...
Some images are Black
on some images my girlfriend opens, the preview works but the image itself does not show.
Its an android devices with the newest server and app version. If I open the same image in the same album on my iphone it shows without any problems.

Beta upload error#immichbeta#casaos
The Immich beta version has a bug when uploading photos after opening the app. It always tries to upload starting from 1000 photos. The upload counter even goes into negative numbers. When the app is closed and reopened, it restarts the upload from the same point again.#immichbeta#casaos
Re-importing files into Immich after DB restore
Hi team,
I had to restore my Immich database from a backup, and now the DB is basically “fresh” again.
The files on disk are all still on the same location, untouched, under my immich/library/ and immich/upload/ folders, but Immich doesn’t see them in users’ accounts anymore.
What’s the best way to force Immich to re-import everything that’s already on disk?
Is there a way to trigger a global rescan for all existing files?...
GPS location from sidecar files not being picked up?
I have created sidecar xmp files with GPS location now. I have also re-run the sidecard metadata job. But I dont see the corresponding images on the map.

Immich-Machine-Learning
Hello, I'm having trouble using my Immich server. I set it up in Proxmox in a VM using Docker Compose. I have mounted an NFS drive as a library. The server itself is running without issues, but the face recognition isn't working. Overall, the machine learning is not functioning. I keep getting the following error message.

No Metadata in Android App
Could maybe anybody check out this issue, found it after some days of debugging, but it is closed?
On some Android Phones no metadata can be accessed on the phone from local media.

Replace external library to internal library
Hi, I'm trying to change the way I upload my media from Nextcloud to Immich.
Before I was simply working with my Nextcloud folder which was shared to Immich via external libraries.
Now I would like to upload my media via Immich so I have modified my docker volumes to leave everything except the library to point to my external library which will become my main library.
And that's where I'm baffled, what should I do to avoid rescanning all my media? I'm afraid Immich will delete everything and reanalyze it all.

upload location on unraid with docker compose manager
I'm having trouble figuring out where my assets are located on my unraid server. I'm using the docker compose manager provided by unraid. I specified the upload location in the .env but there appears to be nothing there.

External Library - 0 Images
Hello, I'm running Immich v1.140.1 via Docker Compose on Ubuntu. My photo library is on an external NTFS drive mounted via /etc/fstab with uid=1000,gid=1000,umask=002.
The external library path (/data) validates correctly in the UI. From inside the immich-server container, I can confirm the volume is mounted and all files are visible. Running the command find /data -type f | wc -l returns 48,879.
However, when I run a library scan from the UI, it completes instantly and finds 0 files. The immich-server logs do not show any permission errors during the scan. I have already done a full database reset....
mobile: preload thumbnails (+ preview image)
Is there an option to preload all thumbnails for my whole image library?
I sometimes do not have a good internet connection or no internet connection at all but would still like to see at least thumnails when scrolling through my library.
and manually scrolling through approx. 150K of images to manually trigger preloading thumnails/preview images is kind of difficult :/...
Reverse proxy work app, not web
I have setup a reverse proxy throw Apache to allow remote Immich access. I am also using mTLS. It work fine throw the mobile app but not throw web browser. The login in page load with no issues. However, after typing in your user name and password, it just hang. Local access have no problem.
[Beta] New timeline causing image timestamps to be incorrectly updated
I have started using the immich beta timeline on an iPhone 12 running iOS 16.3.1. It is currently running Immich 1.140.0 build.219, but I saw this issue at the original beta release too.
When I enable it and restart the app, everything seems fine, but when I enable backup, some of the images that get backed up start getting updated to have a timestamp of right now.
Some images are screenshots taken only a few days ago, some were taken on the camera years ago. I had to stop the backup to keep it from doing it to any more photos. It's now very difficult to recover the original timestamp because I am not able to search by file name on the device and there's not any other metadata I can search by....
Immich crashing unexpectly
Hi, I've just done some try installing immich with docker, i'm using traefik as a reverse proxy but this shouldn't be an issue
after i setup the server, i try to connect the app on my mobile phone, start doing the backup, upload like 10 or so photo and then immich crash and starts a crash loop, i've tried enabling verbose logging right after configuring it, and it is the following, i've stripped out some images upload info, but on errors: [] and warnings: [] was nothing
I don't actually know if the problem is the mobile app, i'll try now....

V1.140.1 crashed after file upload, downgrade to V.1.138.1 throws corrupted migrations error
This morning I did the upgrade from v135 to v140.1 Everything seems to be fine.
An hour ago I tried to upload more then 100 new images. More the 90% got an error in the UI (is there some a logfile for?)
The Immich server continuously restarts (approx. every 30 seconds) until this log entry:

Immich app redeploys when scanning or creating previews
When scanning an external SMB library in Immich (v1.139.4) on TrueNAS Community Edition (25.04.2.3, platform: Generic), the app crashes and continuously redeploys. Logs show the container being killed by the OOM-Killer once the 4 GB memory limit is reached.
I increased the memory limit to 8GB and the cores to 4. But its still crashing....
Three-way Google Photos/Immich/NAS mess
Hi all, I am facing a challenging scenario:
As a family of 4 members we have a NAS with all the pictures ever taken, just brutally organized in folders as if each one was an album.
Back when Google Photos storage was free (the original quality for Pixel owners and compressed for everyone else), we decided to upload everything there to have an easily accessible copy on the go (didn't matter if quality was a bit lower).
In doing that, we realized that all the photos taken from older cameras lack the location information and often have the wrong time/date cause the time zone didn't adjust automatically....
