Three-way Google Photos/Immich/NAS mess

Hi all, I am facing a challenging scenario: As a family of 4 members we have a NAS with all the pictures ever taken, just brutally organized in folders as if each one was an album. Back when Google Photos storage was free (the original quality for Pixel owners and compressed for everyone else), we decided to upload everything there to have an easily accessible copy on the go (didn't matter if quality was a bit lower). In doing that, we realized that all the photos taken from older cameras lack the location information and often have the wrong time/date cause the time zone didn't adjust automatically....

Phone import doesn’t respect dates

Exit code 132

Hi, recently installed immich on my rpi 4b (2gb ram with 16gb swap). After running immich, i had it scan my external library which was on a usb HDD. I have turned off facial recognition in ML settings, leaving only smart search and dupe detection on. However, the server keeps crashing and restarting. When viewing the logs, it says “exited with code 132”. I have followed a Pi my life Up guide on installing Immich. Can someone please help.

Image name detail

Hello, I have set storage rules to configure the names of my photos, but when I go to the details, I see the old name of the photo, and in the small information box, I can see that the name of the photo is correct, but not in the preview. Is this normal, or is there something I need to do? A cache problem? Etc....

Advise on backup strategy with restic

After a huge ordeal (as I'm running Immich in Home Assistant) to run restic, I finally got everything working. I'm amazed at how good restic is (way faster than rclone, and way more efficient storage wise, and it also solves a file count limit problem for Google Shared Drives). Immich using up all phone storage during video upload

Hey, I’m running into an issue with the new beta timeline. Immich is using up all of my iPhone’s storage when trying to upload two large videos (17GB and 8GB). The first time, it filled up about 90GB until I had zero storage left — I’m pretty sure it would have kept going if I had more space. At that point the app just kept crashing until I uninstalled/reinstalled. After reinstall, it happened again. While trying to upload those videos, storage usage climbed to 23GB before I disabled uploads....

External Library to normal back up

Hello All, new Immich user here and had a question reagarding a weird scenario im in. I originally added roughly 35k+ images by means of external library, becuase uploading them normally through the IOS Immich app would freeze. that was roughly a Year ago. Now, I am attempting to upload them normally and it seems to be working. My question, If I just upload them normally through the app (if it continues working) can I just remove the external library and all will be good?...

CLI finds images in Hashing, but looses them for upload

Unable to upload any photos

When uploading pictures the IOS app and the website both say they upload successfully however the file size is 0 bytes when downloading via the website and obviously that means no thumbnail was generated.. The files (before uploading) are 100% not empty (But they are after upload) so I'm not really sure what could be the issue based on the verbose log below there isn't much to go on from what I can tell. I have set logging to verbose but its not really giving me much except for file empty.....

Server Stats shows incorrect count

The server stats page is showing one more photo and one more video than the actual amount. I checked this by selecting every item inside immich and also by counting the files using the terminal....

Solution for sharing external library

I finally upgraded my Synology which means I lose automatic HEIC thumbnail generation. This is super annoying for my workflow, which is uploading photos from my mirrorless camera via FTP and sharing them with my family. I have Immich set up in a container and it’s working well, but the only way I can see to share photos from my ftp folder (set up as an external library) is to share all photos on my account. Is there a way to share just the external library?

Permission Errors when setup devcontainer

I followed the developer guide to set up the dev container, but I’m running into permission issues. I already checked the troubleshooting steps for EACCES / permission denied errors and also tried rebuilding the dev container without cache, but the issue still persists. I’d appreciate any help. Immich v1.139+ crashes shortly after starting up

I'm experiencing an issue where the process seems to simply exit around 20 seconds after fully starting up. For those 20 seconds, I can use the web UI as normal, and the server dies, with docker logs showing

immich_server exited with code 0

immich_server exited with code 0

and nothing else (no crash report). Docker then restarts the immich_server and the cycle continues....

Server Error after update (Relation doesn't exist)

Hey, I was running v1.119.0 via helm 0.9.3 and wanted to update to appversion 1.40.1.
