@walmis I've printed and fitted an 11 degree version of the throw limiter (thanks for making it available!). After running the auto calibration I'm finding the throw is shorter with master gain back at 100%. If I set master gain to 0% the throw reaches the newly calibrated full deflection. I haven't checked if it's related to a particular force effect yet, only master gain after I noticed the shorter throw.

Deflection as shown in the axis graph in the configuration app (the physical deflection isn't affected). I also see the same reduced throw in other joystick testers.

Hey, check out the Force comp.Force comp. parameter, it should help with this issue. Recommend to try the Rhino defaults.

You need to open up the "Tune" dialog for friction and play around with the values to get a stable response, also you may need to increase the filter bandwidth, try 8-10 Hz.

Yep! Re-calibrating the grip with WW's base worked! I guess somehow the stored value got messed up.

Yeah, it seems like that might be the best case, at least for me. Everything was working on the WW base before I transplanted it to the Rhino. Buttons works, but not the axis. Then, I went back to WW's base and recalibrated it and all the axis are working now. It could also be that I was working from a motor/pcb kit and had do the wire harness myself, and somehow that tripped the grip's memory during the whole process, so the calibration value had to be redone. In any case, I think it would be prudent to get the base.

Virpil doesn't require this and all axis can be calibrated in the VPForce config tool.

That’s my experience. The DLC axis on the VFX grip works a charm. I can finally wrestle the cat down to the deck!

Next question is: I only get stick shake effects on WW2 aircraft. Are there supposed to be periodic effects like stick shaker or weapon effects in DCS for modern aircraft?

No "DCS-wide" effects. Everything is up to the module author. Some modern jets have some effects others have nothing. I don't expect there to be weapons effects while firing in any modern jet. I hear anything by Heatblur has a good FFB implementation (F-14, soon F-4).

I am trying to figure out ways to have independent spring X and Y forces in DCS per aircraft. From my cursory reading of the code, so far TelemFFB have two man effects, periodic and constant, but no spring effect. Is it possible to get the spring effect implemented in the future?
