Recntly updated the firmware and the configurator. Loaded last versions profiles. Now getting oscillating of the stick that increases more so then previous version it would stay under a certain low limit and be basically elliminated. Does anyone know hwo to reduce that in this vcersion if possible. I know earlier on it was doing it and then got fixed last version or 2.

I was also wondering about this new effect. It seems like its a G effect or an AoA effect. When I stick back into a turn at high G and AoA the stick pushes forward. So I'm fighting it and I'm getting an oscillation effect. Its really cool. But, would like to tone it down a bit. even with periodic effect at 12%, its really heavy.

You can eddid the effects in the Telem ini file. I would recommend to see into the user (?) ini, because this settings carry over from version to version while the ini gets reset (can't remember the correct file names, away from the computer). Just check in the TelemFFB channel down low. (knowledge base)

I also got very intense and gradually worsening oscillations with the newest configurator & TelemFFB. So intense that had no other choice than to push the red button. My hypothesis is that some of the oscillations resonate if there is many or certain periodic effects overlapping. I did not have this issue when periodic effects were turned off. Also no problem with the "release version" of TelemFFB.

AoA, RPM, gun shake. I believe all of them might have triggered at the same time. Was really pushing AH-64 to test the new version. No G-effect.

It did it with the default settings with latest wip-version of TelemFFB, master gain 100% and periodic gain 25%. No problem after turning some of the periodic effects down or off.

No problem in this sense that it can be easily fixed by tuning down some settings. But some kind of periodic effect filtering or damping option could help if the oscillations start to shake too violently.

The oscillation (when it happens) starts with small but sharp vibration that gradually becomes more intensive, until it gets out of control. It is only coming with the latest TelemFFB. Not without it and not with an older version.

Not sure if I understand this correctly. The tooltip is telling that lower value means sluggish movement but less oscillations. 15 Hz is quite much higher than what I have now

Hi, looking in the FAQ there are several choices of FFB motors I noticed that the Rhino uses the lowest torque motor. I understand that it is multiplied though a gear so the force generated at the grip is higher than the stated spec.

My experience of FFB is mostly from simracing, and over there there has been a trend towards higher torque motors and direct drive (so no gear or belt-driven ffb). The more powerful motors allow for better 'feel' in the wheel because the responsiveness is better with the higher peak torque.

So I guess my question is if there are similar reasons to increase motor torque for flight sim sticks. The car use case is one I'm familiar with since I work with racecars irl but I've never flown a helicopter or warbird so I don't know what stick forces are like and if high peak forces are even required.

For reference, entry level ffb wheels range from 5-7nm and the high end DD wheelbases have peak torques of upto 25nm.

the effect (in TelemFFB) is called 'aoa reduction') and it should only be enabled on the F18 by default (as that is the specific aircraft it was developed to emulate)...

You can change the characteristics with these values (but you would want to edit the ones under the F18 section)

Most cool passively with their gigantic heatsink motor casings the size of a watermelon. Completely impractical and unnecessary for a flight stick. Even if you want huge forces for some god forsaken reason just use bigger motors/belt ratio.

Simracing wheels need to do extremely high freq effects to simulate the vibrate-y feel of rubber meeting road and sharp effects like slamming curbs or landing from jumps etc with enough overhead to also generate the main forces without clipping so need to be very powerful to be able to do this convincingly, particularly with DD that lacks any mechanical advantage like gearing/belts. Aircraft have much lower freq forces so don't need the brute force simracing req and if you need high forces belt reduction does this with a lot less wasted space and money.
