I personally gave up on trying to achieve "real world" forces. Perhaps not important to everyone, but once geared up, I lost the ability to fly helis, as the static force became too great.

It also becomes very unforgiving on the design and any small slop becomes amplified. I also find the motors aren't great at holding centre so can feel a little "loose".

This design gave me about 8.3:1 with the 4.2Nm motors. I found there was a point where the extra torque gained wasn't worth the disadvantages, at least for me.

Thanks. I think about 35Nm. I've put a luggage scale on the handle and I think it was about 14kg of force for full deflection.

Agree, from past experience with race car suspension parts and building motion sims, I purposely steered clear of them for my stick and yoke FFB setups. They do allow a nice compact build though.

Yeah, I ended up paying about $20ea for the rod ends I'm using. They seem to be holding up for now, certainly much better than the cheaper options.

not sure I follow exactly the symptom you are describing. Can you elaborate? Does it only happen with adaptive centering enabled?
In general, for issues I have seen related to force trim in helicopters.. Make sure you do not have any curves in your axis settings in DCS and make sure your Rhino calibration is accurate in VPf configurator

Possibly need to swap ffb axis in the dcs settings. Sounds like your force trim maybe trimming the wrong axis?

For the pre-built Rhinos, how long is the lead from the power adapter to the base? What type of power connector is used?

My Rhino shipped today, and I'm trying to determine if I need to mount the power adapter on my motion rig, or if the power lead is long enough to be mounted on my rack below the rig.

Assuming the supplier hasn't changed since mine was shipped in May, the power supply lead is only about 3'. But it is a standard 5.5mx2.5mm DC plug. I am using a 6' extension with a 90 degree end (male side) on mine.

Quite a long way from the ol serial port joysticks.

And having to choose between not loading joystick drivers, sound drivers or the mouse driver..

Wasnt really that hard, if I had use of my joystick I didnt need the mouse so much.

Yup, that was my intention as well. However I struggled to get the force I was wanting due to the longer extension. And then, as mentioned, it wasn't great as a heli cyclic. I'm rebuilding the base now, but I'll hopefully have something that is kinda half under the floor. Something of a compromise. Hopefully it doesn't end up looking like a dogs breakfast.

My servos are installed in the Yoke setup at the moment, but remember the stick being more then adequate torque wise, even with the long throw.. I still have my Warthog stick setup installed for modern jets, as they are FBW. When I have the cash will purchase more servos and refit out the stick housing for warbirds, old jets and helis.

So I've printed pretty much everything I need except for the large pulleys. What print setting would you recommend for PLA? I was thinking about 4 perimeters and 40% infill so the inertial mass won't be too high. I was also thinking about locally increasing the center part's infill to 100% in order to reduce creep caused by the clamping force of the bolts.
