normal distro simplify install but complicate debugging, using ostree makes it easier to reproduce problem since it is the same image

yea i would recommend something like nobara if you want fedora workstation and not atomic

you shouldn't be interacting with it often, ostree is for the composition of the images

I often feel like I have to use it thought? I install programs regularly. Everytime I use any flatpack there's always something that doesn't work. I just spent the last hour or so trying to install google chrome without it being a flatpack, because of course it also had proglems with certain developer features not working). It worked once I finally got it installed as a non-flat pack.

typically you shouldn't need to layer all that many things. A lot of things are fine in flatpak or distrobox etc.

I've not had a single important flatpak work properly for me.

this is probably not true, afaik linux use more dynamic deps compared to windows
