GHello. Need help to troubleshoot VKB grip. MCG Pro Add-On Grip for Gunfighter IV + blackbox 3 (brand new). Rhino VKB adapter.
Blackbox is blinking red - all 3 red lights. VKB software sees blackbox but not grip.
I disassembled Rhino adapter checked voltage. There is +3.3 and 2.7 for signal .
Any suggestions?

CFlash the correct firmware and should be good.
GI did flash firmware in first place - but didn't press "magic" Default button - that did the trick of device init
CYep if you have the right firmware you just have to click default anytime you switch the stick. I go between 3 vkb sticks depending on what I'm flying. Slightly annoying process but pretty simple once you remember to always do it
TIs you grip the original T50 with the silver buttons and palm rest or the black edition like mine?

It’s the original controller as you can see we don’t have the Thumb Hat we have a Button and some of our 4 ways don’t have center press where the CM2 does and some of the 4 ways are 8 way now on the CM2.

TBelow I’ll post the settings I use but “Buyer beware” I haven’t plugged it in for a while so I might be using outdated software.
When I set it up to fly I’ll redo ALL my software so it’s up to date but yeah… this was how I used it and it works great.

I remember having the same issue you describe like it was acting like the brake lever was a bunch of buttons and some of them were intermittently firing at random times..
Setting it to an Axis and calibrating it fixed it

TSo yeah that’s how the Rhino sits for now..
I’ll get it all set up again soon once thing settle back down and I can Fly again.

AQuestion: preordered the VPC FLNKR grip. It’s got an analog thumb stick instead of a trim hat.
If I connect the grip to the VPC software and configure it to have virtual buttons on the thumb stick reaching full X and Y deflection (so i.e. giving it virtual Up/Down & Left/Right buttons), store that to the grip and then connect it to the Rhino…
The Rhino should then be detecting those virtual buttons, right?

ABit of a clumsy workaround but I don’t wanna go without a trim hat for Western planes, and there’s nothing in the Rhino software to create virtual buttons from an axis
N1.) Nothing is stored in the grip itself on VPC hardware... only the base.
2.) Walmis is going to have to create a profile in the firmware - whomever gets theirs first will need to send him all the mappings using the debug output
3.) The mini stick on the Alpha also has button presses (or POV events) with full excursion in each direction, depending on the "hats as buttons" setting in configurator

BSo, to get the [no longer produced] Virpil Delta supported in the configurator, do i just need to send the mappings in the debug output?
Beven though its no longer produced, its one of my goto grips due to being ambidexterous
MOur configurator versions are the same and our grip serial numbers are only ~150 apart, mine being in the 1300 range. Real strange that mine acts the way it does.

DNormally it's saved in the base and not the grip (unless it's new??). If you plug in Rhino + Virpil grip, it doesn't appear in the VPC configurator.
I'm also waiting for their new grip and could test all that but I'm not worried about the configuration with the Rhino base.
I imagine that with the Rhino configurator you'll still be able to choose what to do with these hats.

AYeah I know, but I’ve got the collective so reckoned I could connect the grip to it to configure it
AObv a bit of a hassle, but sounds like it’s not necessary now anyway

MYup, with the CM2 grip type the center 4way isn't recognized and the brake axis isn't recognized as an axis, so no way to calibrate it
TIs your configurator version the same as shown top left corner of the window? Wondering if a firmware update/tollback is required.

*Hey... this just happened in DCS Tomcat... stick just went full berserk forward and the weight of the Warthog stick on Virpil extension tore the thread in half... I am putting my log and config if someone can check if ther is anything wrong.... I did not really change anything to DCS profiles... maybe just created a couple MSFS profiles...

Aprobably good to get the aluminum attachment, especially since the warthog grip is so heavy + an extension, that's a lot of momentum to fight against
Jis there any documentation/guidance for how to optimize these settings? I understand the first two, the rest are a bit of a mystery.

KHi @walmis just popped in an order form for the winwing adapter, the one I was using, the plastic screw on part that attaches to the base snapped in half and the joystick fell off. The adapter on the left is the one that broke, the one on the right was the original I ordered but it never worked. Just tried it again but it wouldn’t connect correctly in that the flight controls worked, but the functions on the joystick would not work such as the gun trigger or any other buttons. Might it have something to do with the metal surround under the arrow around the pins? The broken one doesn’t have one and all functions worked normally……just a thought. Cheers.
VHave you checked to make sure you have Winwing selected under the grip drop down in VP CONFIG?
