Can the data sent from DCS to TelemFFB when starting a mission to configure the Spring Force for the specific module be visualized somewhere? Does it appear in any logs from DCS or TelemFFB? I am trying to reverse engineer what is th Spring Value set by DCS for each module. Many thanks in advance, Y.
DCS simply starts a spring effect and modifies the coefficient value of the effect which equates to the strength. If you look at the debug tab in configurator you can see what the coefficient value is for the active spring effect at any given time.
Keep in mind it will always be 0-4096, regardless of how you have your other configurator settings set. DCS has no idea what your spring gain slider is set to. That simply acts as a multiplier on top of the gain value set in the effect itself.
The spring effect managed by DCS is typically ID:5
Many thanks! Is this coefficient fixed for each module or does it change with other parameters such as deviation or speed? Is there any dynamic aspect? I understand that this coefficient implies the following %, assuming saturation = 100% F16 X = 99% = Maximum; Y= 50% F18 X/Y = 99% = Maximum HUEY X/Y = 1% = Minimum A10 X/Y = 99% = Maximum F14 - X/Y = 99% = Maximum I am surprised the information coming from DCS modules regarding configuration of FFB is so basic.
It depends on the module. In general however, Warbirds and the like will vary with airspeed FBW aircaft like the F18 will by static Helicopters will be static. Spring force will go to 0 when trim release is pressed
The F4 has the most advanced implementation. The gain varies by airspeed and the bobweight is simulated by shifting the centerpoint in response to g-loading.
In aircraft where the stick moves in response to trim input, that will also be handled by the centerpoint of the spring effect.
It is annoying to have the A10, F4 and F14 sticks so far forward by default. I've been successfull at least somewhat in tweaking it back with a setting suggested here. Might be endstops
Anyone considering upgrading to new VIRPIL R1 Falcon pedals? My Ace interceptors are still on back order (with Flankr) so wonder if it makes sense change them or that will lead to more delays
restart software / PC and thing i made an oppsi is: make sure your profile isnt set to be a chopper had that on the mirage F1 accidentally put it to chopper and the moment i went to fast it just went ballistic with the overspeed turbulences since a chopper normally aint fying 500 kts
Anyone else having trim not working with helos after last patch? Like, when I keep pressing the trim button it works normally, but when released it springs back to center
If you haven't touched the Rhino configurator or TelemFFB it probably is something about the export lua and stuff. There are more knowledgeable people on here with better ideas probably
If I order the Rhino, is it possible to upgrade the motors in it by simply ordering the motors and printing/cutting new sidewalls for them to fit, or is the box physically bigger for the larger motor flanges?
