Make sure umu is enabled like in the photo above, you don't necessarily have to do it for this game since it all works but moving forward, should reduce the amount of headaches you have

If you switch to umu + proton-ge, it'll install vcrun2022 for you automatically

GTA 5 works on desktop but the game mode shortcut

It probably just created a new prefix so you'd need to reinstall them and it should work fine after that

[SOLVED] Games fail to start with proton ge + umu enabled

There was an umu bug with it not working properly if it couldn't connect to the internet, it's been fixed but there hasn't been an umu version bump yet

Metro Last Light Redux Flickering + Crash

If you look at the github links above, it's really not too hard to do yourself. You first add a database entry to it in this repo, https://github.com/Open-Wine-Components/umu-database, which is pretty straightforward and includes a how-to on the README. In the proton-fixes repo, you just copy what Linguin did for metro 2033 and rename it to match the Steam ID which you can get from the steamdb repo.
