Do gnome extensions still break after every major update

I heard in the past, extensions in gnome break every year since that is how often gnome gets a major update. I am wondering if all my gnome extensions (I just have dash to dock and desktop icons gtk4 installed along with the ones that are baked into the bazzite image) will be completely broken on fedora 43 or whatever fedora update that happens during the fall?

Modding EDF 6 not working

So I've been trying to mod EDF 6 since a few days and am at a loss on how to make the modmanager work. The included files in it's folder, which are to be placed with the exe are: "ModLoader.ini", "winmm.dll" and a folder called "Mods" containing an empty folder called "Plugins" Does anyone know a way to make this work?...

Lenovo legion go s control scheme gone

I got a legion go s about a week ago and I’ve just left home for a month to see my parents. I got home and connected to their WiFi and only about 2 hours later my control scheme changed out of nowhere and now I can’t use the d-pad and the RGB in HHD have also just vanished. This happened as I changed games and I have no idea what has caused it, and I don’t know what to do to fixed, I’ve tried everything except for a factory reset since it won’t let me and installing windows. Is there anything I can do or will or is re-installing bazzite/windows my only option. Since I’m home and away from my computer I don’t really have many options and I’m desperate since this happened literally 2 hours after I got home for my month long visit. The first thing i noticed was the touchpad haptics going and then I opened up a game and the buttons weren’t doing the right thing. I’ve tried different controller emulation settings in HHD but it doesn’t do anything since the Xbox button layout is always there no matter what. D-pad only works if I’m pressing the quick access button and the D-pad at the same time....

Secondary internal SSD unrecognized after Windows BSoD

Huh so: my config first - 500GB M2 NVMe Linux Boot drive (BTRFS + LUKS) - 500GB M2 NVMe Windows Boot drive (NTFS) - 1TB SATA SSD shared storage (BTRFS) - 2TB SATA SSD shared storage (BTRFS) <-- This one has problem...

Solution:

Heh I deleted the "linux filesystem partition" from the screenshot above, and it just turns my drive into a recognized BTRFS partition like before. What the fuck? Now to make sure the disk is detected on windows.

Autocomplete for ujust arguments is broken after 42.20250804

I have to remount my partitions everytime i restart my pc, how do i stop this

my drives are both btrfs like i was recommended and everytime i reset my pc i have too remount them in the drives menu, is there anyway i can stop it from needing that

hybrid GPU problems/questions

OK so i'm running into some weird issues with multiple monitors, where the processes from KDE Plasma sometimes start using a good chunk of GPU resources (spiking PCI-GPU usage up to 50%), this happened especially if i am running other video (like YT or twitch) but also happenes whenever something changes on my side monitors, be that a window popping up or the discord chat updating with a new message or literally whatever else. this ofc causes the game i'm running on my main monitor to stutter, a Lot. i've checked with system monitor and made sure the other programs/processes i'm using does not use hardware acceleration and aren't using GPU resources, but i have no way of doing the same for KDE, (which is gathered under "background Services" as an application, but is "plasmashell", "Xwayland", "plasma-system monitor" and so on, under processes) now what i want to do, is use configure these "background services" to use my IGPU, CPU, and RAM for its computing, instead of using my PCI-GPU and Vram....

Bluetooth between game mode and desktop mode

Hi, I just installed Bazzite on my desktop with default start in gamemode. I am trying to figure out my limitations at the moment in terms of hybrid everyday use and gamemode gaming. I had a question regarding bluetooth. It seems like the connections work seperately between desktop and gaming mode? It disconnects my headset and I will have to pair it again? Is this by design and is there a workaround to keep the bluetooth connections?

Games recognize steam deck instead of PC desktop environment

I took the distro suggested to me with my specs. now every game thinks I'm on steam deck. Its not an issue most of the time, but many games show controller buttons instead of keyboard keys for their UI, which can be a problem. Would prefer not to reinstall my whole environment, since I customized it a lot already. ...

to rebase to the desktop version you would use the bazzite rebase helper in the terminal with the command brh rebase bazzite:stable...

wifi not working after installation

Hello, I've recently installed my first Bazzite on my desktop, I had no problems connecting to the WiFi during the installation but when it reboots to desktop mode it won't connect to my WiFi or is able to see any nearby networks at all. I did some searching online and found that windows dual booting might cause troubles but I'm not dual booting. I've also rebooted and powercycled the system but with no results. If anyone can help me out that would be great, completely new to Bazzite/fedora, I have only had some Ubuntu based distros before. Let me know if there is any commands to check etc ...

second freezes every few minutes while gaming, constant freeze after system update

While gaming (most games affected) I get random freezes of about 1 second every few minutes or so. while it happens, I see my GPU load sensor go to zero. (see picture) Only happens ingame and only when the game is focused. It might be connected to that other thing: When I run the system update and I reboot, i get a 1 second freeze every 2 seconds (without even starting a game), making it hard to even reboot again. after 2nd reboot its all back to normal. Get Google Device ID to Get Certified

Solution:

I installed waydroid fresh on my PC and can retrieve my google id. Reset waydroid then do the following: * Download VANILLA image ujust setup-waydroid init * Start it once, then shutdown with waydroid session stop * Install ONLY gapps: ujust setup-waydroid configure. Choose Android 13 then gapps. * Restart Waydroid, wait 3 minutes for Google Play to auto update....

Compatability question-kinda.

So I want to switch to bazzite for a while, but my internet speed is quite bad for the most part and reinstalling certain games is a pain. As of the moment, I am on windows 11, I have all of my games installed from steam, the one I am most concerned about is Overwatch 2. Every other game I own or play isnt nearly as big as these and takes a reasonable amount of time to install. Would it be possible for me copy the "steamapps\common\overwatch" file to an external drive and then simply copy and paste it into the new OS aka bazzite and have no issues? If there are issues, what would I need to use? I'm sorry if this is a weird question and thank you in advance for any help....

Stuck at booting for the 1st time after installation

Any idea of what I could do? I'm stuck here after installing bazzite with "automatic partitioning" on a partition with windows on it (I don't see the former listed in grub either, I hope it didn't wipe the entire disk lol). My GPU is a GTX 1080 btw if that can help

Long System Hitching during Game

Recently, when I'm playing Warframe, over time if I alt tab my pc will slowly start to hitch between tabs. It'll eventually get to a point where the whole system will suddenly hitch for minutes at a time (5 or more) and eventually return. No clue why this is happening as it was never a problem before.
