Chrome fails to start

When I install the flatpak or the rpm version directly from chromes download page, after a restart it will not open, it acts like its going to open, then just closes without a warning. Is there a good way to diagnose these problems?

Bazzite will not play at 120hz even when set to it in game mode. Limits to 36 FPS.

5600X RTX 3080 Bazzite worked and I was playing Jedi Fallen Order at 120fps on my 3440x1440 120hz screen using a display port connection. I can set the screen to 3440x1440 120hz in game mode settings, then it just doesn't work. If I set it to 60hz I get 60fps but can't get it to set to any refresh rate higher or to stay there. I was using the system just fine a few days ago. Any help would be appreciated....

No audio through monitor

Thats .. it really. The computer says its sending audio via the display port, says volumes at max both on the rig and the monitor. But nothing. Can someone please help?...

Update: Fixed! I've had to run this command: systemctl enable --now hhd@$(whoami) It's weird, because on the first install of Bazzite I didn't have to run any command... It worked out of the box, as I said....

[Re-asking] 2 lock screens?

Everything worked fine for me on bazzite. However like a month ago i tried to change my sddm settings like wallpaper or theme, and after applying i had to input my bazzite password twice ever since (like the lock screen pops up twice) and i think it might be because i am booting into desktop by default?? But then i am using grub to boot into whatever mode, because i dual boot.. How do i remove the 2 lock screens?

why do I have my ssd twice

one is /var/mnt/issd one is /run/media/system/Internal_SSD now I changed the mounting point in gnome disks to /mnt/issd. I had the issue where after reboot my notes app and music app, they have a folder selected from that drive, but for some reason it says folder doesn't exist and I have to reselect it after each reboot. And setting the mounting point was done in hopes to fix it, but it didn't...

Minisform V3 audio fix

The Minisforum V3 tablet requires an edit in a config file located in /user/share/ to fix the speaker volume. Without the fix the volume is either 100% or 0%, everything in between is ignored. I temporally disabled the read-only file system and applied the changes. The fix works but will be reset after a reboot. Can I make the changes permanent or could this be included in Bazzite?...

Read only system suddenly

Today my bazzite has gone into read only. Yesterday it was working normally. Now I can't open any flatpaks that worked fine yesterday, cant install anything, cannot create folders anywhere. Im basically locked out of my own system completely. How do i fix this?

Ally forcing lower GPU power when plugged in

Version: 42.20250804 When unplugged, my Ally pulls ~12W on the GPU at an 18W TDP and hits ~1400MHz. Plugged in, it drops to ~10W and caps around 950MHz. I'm using SimpleDeckyTDP, but got the same results with HHD. Stock charger, everything's up to date. After more testing, it looks like I need to bump the TDP by 2W when plugged in to match unplugged performance. Kind of annoying, since 20W triggers the Ally's high minimum fan speed (temps are great at ~62°C, but the noise isn’t). Forcing higher clocks without raising TDP just lowers GPU utilization, so there's no actual performance gain. I should mention that these results come from playing GoW Ragnarok, Batman Arkham Knight and Arkham Asylum....

Migrating to bazzite from another distro

Hello, I am currently using Arch Linux with BTRFS as / drive. I want to install Bazzite and move over (parts of) my /home folder. There is less than %50 space left on / so I want to install bazzite to the same partition Arch uses. What is the best way to approach this? Can I use blivet-gui on installer, choose my existing btrfs partition as / and expect it to install without touching existing files and folders? I can move folders within same partition beforehand to get them out of the way of Baz...

Solution:

Bazzite installer mandates creation of a new filesysten for / drive. What I want is not possible, best course of action is installing bazzite to a newly created smaller partition then migrating the installation to the large partition.

Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter

Has anyone got this working before? I use this to allow me to use 2 audio streams to my wireless headset. Arctis 9 Wireless Bluetooth to a laptop (Windows) and via the dongle to my desktop(Bazzite) I would also usually use this donge to connect my xbox controller. However neither seem to pair with this device in Bazzite but work as intended in Windows. ...

Won't load to desktop after rebasing from atomic kinoite to bazzite

Hey, been desperately trying to leave Microsoft the last couple of days but been having complications. After trying every OS I managed to get Fedora Atomic Kinoite (42-1.1) to a desktop on my SSD. Bazzite wouldn't work though. Main issue is probably because my hardware: 14900 KF (no internal GPU), 4080TI, 32GB DDR5 ram that i had to unplug one stick for to get the install working. Also when installing Kinoite I had to add acpi=off to my initial install to get it working. I ran sudo rpm-ostree rebase ostree-unverified-registry:ghcr.io/ublue-os/bazzite-nvidia-open:stable immediately after initial boot of kinoite which seemed to download everything. On reboot it tries to reboot once, fails while initializing (it just shows a blank loading screen so no messages to share) and then reboots where it just shows a flashing line top left. ...

So really annoying but I think I figured out a solution to my problem. In case others have problems getting the installer to start or booting to desktop after installing this is what I did: Hardware: 14900KF, DDR5 32GB (reduced to 16 for this), 4080 TI Installer - I added these to the grub loader on the linux line:...

Audio Problems
