Game Issue exclusive to Bazzite: Forza Horizon 5

So the issue is as stated. After installing the game you are supposed to get a pop up to log in to an microsoft account but the game just errors out and says you need to log in to proceed but i can't log in because the pop up to log in won't show. The game installed and ran fine on normal Fedora and on Nobara and the login popup showed up fine and this is the first time i see this issue since it's been fixed all the way back within the first week of the game launching....

Solution:

Okay my bad guys it's a new bug in proton-ge and you need to delete the prefix to fix it. I'll report it to their newly opened issues page.

Can I install Adguard for Linux on Bazzite?

I use Adguard (not Adguard Home) for quite some time and I must say it's a very good adblocker. They recently released a Linux version, and I would like to install it. Bascially, the install script will set things up in /opt and , I suppose, work as a proxy on the system. Given Bazzite architecture, will Adguard work / remain installed between versions? My understanding is that folders like /opt are read only and cleaned on each update....

crashing on suspend

sometimes when I leave my laptop alone for a good while and it goes to sleep, it crashes and gives the text shown in the image. it does not happen every time, maybe around a fourth of the times that I've left it alone to sleep for a while. after I force shutdown, I see no other issues, but I'd still like to fix it if possible. also I have an rtx 4060 max q.

Audio Troubleshooting - How to split front/rear audio ports into separate playback devices?

I'm new to bazzite (and only dabbled with ubuntu 15 years ago), but while getting things set up I noticed something odd about my audio devices. Context: I'm running the desktop kde nvidia version. I have speakers plugged into the line out 3.5mm rear jack and a headset into the front. I was able to use alsamixer to enable both ports to play audio without unplugging anything, but for some reason this treats them as the same output device with a port toggle. On win10 I run voicemeeter banana and virtual devices to split VOIP (discord, zoom, etc) audio from everything else to send that to my headset while using the speakers for desktop audio (games, videos, etc). I'm trying to replicate that here but the headset and speakers need to be separate devices (which they are in win10). I've dug around and this appears to be a common thing with pipewire, but I couldn't find any real solution....

I’ve broken Gamescope/Gaming Mode (I think)

I have the HTC ISO installed and wanted to try it without my PC booting directly to Big Picture Mode, so I used: sudo rm -r /etc/sddm.conf.d/ It worked perfectly however it has removed the shortcut to return to gaming mode. Bluetooth Issues

Hey, pretty new here and happy with bazzite, but I have trouble connecting my nova arctis pro (and also my ps4-controller) with bluetooth. It shows this error, but I have no more information on what the error is. Everything I google points me to stuff that doesn't work on bazzite since it's immutable. I use an Lenovo Y50-70 which is pretty old....

Bazzite FPS drops, after Freeze and Hard Reset

Hello, I don't know how to reset it anymore. I wanted to enjoy bazzite, I like the system and it could replace windows for me. However, I have a problem for example with KCD 2. During playing about 15-30 minutes, a tiny fps to 1 fps and then freezes. I have to do a hard reset. I tried reading what I could, testing tdp, playing with temperature, game settings, etc....

Inverted audio on headphones

Hi all, I recently built a new gaming PC and installed the latest version of Bazzite. I am using the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro for audio, but when testing the headphones in the System Settings, it gives me inverted audio. If I try 'Front Left', I hear it on the right side, and if I try 'Front Right', I hear it on the left side. I also tried it by playing Minecraft, but whenever there's water on the left side I hear it on the right and vice versa. ...

Secondary drive mounted prevents booting to gaming mode

I tried searching and haven't seen anything else mentioning this. I can format, mount and add a secondary drive in desktop mode, but after doing so I can no longer switch into gaming mode it crashes back to desktop mode. I can see Process 38012 (steamwebhelper) of user 1000 dumped core. in the logs around the time it's happening. Has anyone seen this before?...

Can't login to Twitch with Firefox (Your browser is not currently supported)

Upon a fresh install of Bazzite I am unable to log into my Twitch user in the included version of Firefox. I've tried clearing cookies/site data to no avail. I get the same error in a new Private Window also. It's probably Twitch's fault for using this kind of asinine browser restriction for their login in the first place, but I'm hoping somebody here might be able to help me find a workaround. Note that streams play just fine, and nothing else is broken. I'm just unable to log into my user. This is very confusing to me since I had no issues logging in with Librewolf on CachyOS previously. Maybe the fact that it's a Flatpak on Bazzite is a contributing factor? It works on Chrome, but Chrome often becomes unusable because of Wayland+NVIDIA on my hardware, so I'd rather avoid using it if I can....

Solution:

Librewolf is at least a good alternative, so that's a workaround that I can live with.

replace kernel

what is the best strategy to apply a kernel patch to bazzite image. I started forking kernel and add my patch. Then I see the kernel image is used by akmod repository. I forked it and meke the Image build but I can't make the Image upload working. Where I can find documentation on the process. or there is a better strategy to replace the kernel on a bazzite installation?...

Questions about (AMD) PC to TV connection

So I just want to have a few questions clarified as I keep finding contradicting answers online. I’m about to build a PC hooked up to my TV to replace my PS5 in the long run. As I already own the Deck I thought I’d get everything on one platform, haha. The PC will have the Ryzen 7 7700X and the Radeon 9070XT. The PC will be connected to the TV via HDMI and is a LG OLED C4 77“. So here’s what I’d like to know. 1. Is HDR supported? 2. VRR seems to be out of the question but I thought I’d still ask here....

pb278q 1440p monitor not being detected properly

My 1440p 60HZ Asus pb278q monitor is being defaulted to 640x480, but my other 1080p one is fine. I replugged it (displayport) and it displayed the correct resolution but made kde vanish and crashed the system 5 minutes later. The "Identify" button correctly identified the name after the replug.
