Core V4 500 IDEX - commisioning - first print failed

After posting on FB i ask my question here and added the debug.zip I want to print the skew_correcton.stl from the guide, my first print I use Prusa slicer and imnported the setting as pointed out in the guide. At first after doing home and Z-tilt the printer made a big blob on the oozeguard_arms. After a good look in the config there was a ! added to the extruder pins. I removed that. Now the blob is put on the print bed, then the print head moves above the oozeguard_arms and retracts the filament, it keeps doeing that saying 'extruder allready active' in the console. What can this be? Thank you in advance!...

TMC Stepper_z2 reports error DRV_Status during beacon calibration

VC4-400 mm build. Build is finished for the Core XY kit. I have passed the sanity checks and checked all my wiring a few times now. When I attempt a ( beacon calibration ) it starts its sequence and before finishing I lose connection to klipper due to this error. Over temp warning for the z2 stepper. Here’s some photos for reference of my wiring lol be easy on the roasting. This is my first build and I learned a lot during this. Any ideas to try or Solutions would be appreciated please and than...
Solution:
I figured it out. If your fan is not spinning during operations it’s configured wrong. I chose digital pwn on 2 pin port for the controller fan which I’ve been referring to it as the mcu fan. I have changed it to input voltage pwm on the configurator and can verify my fans are working during operations now.

Core-V4 Hybrid 500 - Commissioning Issue - no 'mainsail'

Hello, this is my first post in discord. I have build up my Core-V4 Hybrid 500 and now trying to commission it. Raspi is starting and I could connect to ratos.local (respectively to the static ip-adress over ethernet). A 7" BTT-Toucscreen is attached and shows klipper-screen. I could start the Setup-Wizzard. Setup ist completed and afterwards mainsail should be available - but the only display shows "initializing" forever. On klipper I could run home-x and home-y and it is working (after fixing an issue with a factory-assembled motor-cable. It seems klipper is up and running, x- and y-motors and belts are installed correct. When I run z-home, all steppermotors are start running in the same direction (looks also good), but will not stop and will bump into endposition. ...

Problems with chamber heater

Hi all, I have a problem with the pwm-chamber heater with fan, 300W, 24V. At printer.cfg I did everything as recommanded. (see https://os.ratrig.com/docs/configuration/chamber_heater/) When I turn on the heater Ratos shuts down at aroung 60° C, when I want to print with a special chamber temperature it shuts down immideately. "Lost communication with mcu"... The hardware is checked three times. It is ok.
I have the Software, RatOS v2.1.0-RC 2. Anyone here woh has an idea?...

Thermistor issue with Rapido 2

Hello I just completed a new build of v-core 3.1 kit i bought last year. It came with Rapido 2 hotend and it came with RTD PT1000B "thermistor" It displays 159C all the time while IDLE I have been playing wit confing for ratos to read correct temperature but can't find solution for it. When i disconecct it it crashes the klipper so it is conncected to correct place. Can anyone help me with right confing?...

VOAC not working

I'm commissioning my V-core 4 IDEX 500 and have a problem. I can't connect to the VOAC. I've reseated the FPC cable multiple times and tried connecting it to my PC, but it's still not working.

Issues with firmware on my octopus 1.1

I tried to reflash the firmware on my octopus 1.1 thru configurator but would get an error that my board is unresponsive. After doing this i checked on rat os and the errors are gone. I assume that the firmware flashed. But when i try to restart the firmware thru the operating system i would get an the same error that it cant connect to mcu. Is my board dead? are there any other things I can do to try to load the firmware?...

beacon_initial_calibration issue

Now I have the next problem: While proceeding the homing sequence with beacon_initial_calibration the printer first homes Y (ok) - the X-Axis moves back and rests in the middle - then X T0 (ok) and X T1 (ok). Both toolheads rest on their oozeguard parts. When now the bed is homing, it moves upwards, but can't get in contact with the beacon module as it rests "outside". So the motors now chatter on the top ... As I read in another post, T0 should move in the middle of the printbed, but it doesn't on my printer What do I make wrong?...

Upper belt binding.

My printer has been working perfectly fine. All of a sudden I notice a layer shift so I move the tool head around and notice excessive force to move the upper belt. I checked the set screw on the motor and they’re screwed all the way. Is there anything else that could cause the upper belt to bind?

homing z

I am currently working through the commissioning step by step. When I click on the button (see picture) the printing plate moves upwards, so I have inverted all three Z-motors in the printer.cfg. now everything seems to work correctly, but ... When homing, the printing plate now moves all the way down and does not stop “chattering”. Are the buttons in Klipper wrong or am I thinking wrong or ... Is the problem in front of the monitor?...
Solution:
So undo the Z motor inversion and you will be fine. The sound you heard when it hit the bottom was the motors trying to pull the plate through the bottom of the printer. I hope you did not leave it making that sound for very long, it can burn out the motors

After a day succesfull printing..Troubles about stepper motor driver to hot and toolhead behavor.

Ik can't find any solution. After a new main board, now again troubles with stepper motor drivers. And very annoying noise and jerky movements of the toolhead. Checked everything, no loose parts, belts tensioned, no chafing parts, could not find anything causing this....

Bed Heater Failing on long heating segments

Been printing at 50-80 degree bed temperatures no problem. Just recently wanted to start doing some ASA and went to heat my bed up to 105. Started the first print, got a heater error. Looks like at about 100 degrees it stopped getting hotter. Restarted the printer, and with the temperature already fairly high I turned it on again. It got to 103 before it randomly stopped heating again. One more time, starting at 90, and it was able to get to 105 and hold it no problem. The best I can tell is that something is going wrong with extended 100% power input. That sounds like issues with the power being provided, but I'm not sure how to test that. I have a multimeter and all the tools, I just don't want to probe around without knowing exactly what I should probe....
Solution:
Gotcha, so my new one cutting at 90 is definitely not supposed to happen lol

Gaps on Pause Resume

I am looking for guidance on how to fix a small gap that happens when I pause and resume my printer after filament runout. Every time I resume with new filament the print shows a clear gap at the resume What setting or adjustment can I make to fix this ?...

Part cooling fan not turning on after resume

Idex printer here... when I get a filament runout pause. the PCF turns off, which is fine. Problem is it will not automatically set to the power setting it was at before when calling the resume macro, the printer resumes with the PCF off, my prints suffer if I forget to manually turn it on. How to can I configure RATOS to resume the PCF fan state? Below is my F sensor code: [filament_motion_sensor bowden_filament_clog_t1] switch_pin: PG15 detection_length: 14...

RatRig v4 500mm electronics/controller fan weird behavior

OK the printer is up and running, making very nice prints at pretty quick (if not super fast) speeds. But I've run into a weird problem with the electronics enclosure fan not turning on. I have the single, 180mm fan setup. Forgive me if this has been solved already, I did look around on this channel, but haven't been able to find a solution. Thanks. The fan is (was) wired up as per the build manual on PD12 (Octopus v1.1). It worked fine at first but stopped working after a few 10 hour prints. The fan works when I apply 24v from an external source. The ratOS dashboard shows the controller fan (PD12) as running, but it doesn't turn....

Eddy Installation

Need help setting up printer.cfg to make eddy working, I have already flashed the firmware on eddy.

New Build. VCore 4 failed initial Z-Tilt after homing.

Hey everyone, I'm running into an issue trying to get Z-Tilt working on my RatRig V-Core 4 (500mm). I've followed the commissioning guide carefully, but when I try to run Z-Tilt from the Moonraker UI, the process fails. Here's what happens: 1. I home the toolhead (XYZ) successfully. ...

Beacon calibration failing during comissioning

I'm just assembling my first RatRig printer (first DIY, but fifth printer overall). I'm no stranger to DIY and the build went smoothly. My printer has passed virtually every commissioning step but one: BEACON_RATOS_CALIBRATE I've read a lot here about causes of this error, so I've tightened every bolt on the printer, I've tried hot-tightening the nozzle, changed the nozzle - everything I can think of. I've checked there's no play in the print head, my belts are evenly tensioned, but I always end up with the same error.

Solution:
Figured it out, there was a tiny bit of "stuff" (not sure what it was) stuck to the build plate and that was throwing off the beacon. Scraped it off and passed with flying colors!
