VC4 * 500 Gantry warping issues as printer heats

Hi, My VC4 * 500 build is pretty much completed and I have been trying to run through an exhaustive set of testing and calibrating the printer. I am coming over from a VC3.0 500 that I built in 2021. One of the big issues with the VC3.0 was the bed mesh never being stable on that printer until I heat soaked it for 30-45 minutes before I used it. I tried a number of things to get around that but the only thing that ever worked was just letting it warm up and then it went on its marry way. With the VC4 I was hoping to get away from warming up the printer but it seems to have similar issues as the VC3 though Beacon help a ton vs the original bltouch and then superpinda on my VC3. Last night as I was doing some testing trying to fine tune my first layer on the VC4 I had it dialed down to almost perfect. I took a break for about 30 minutes and came back and planned to just try to find tune that last 0.005 in baby steps. When I tried picking up from where I left the printer it was like I forgot to save my z offset. It was completely off and I had to back off where I left off by 0.05 to get it back to clean again. The only change between those tests was I left the bed on and the front door of the enclosure. I did a few more tests and it seemed to be staying right where I left it so I called it a night. Today I figured I would document z-tilt changes and heightmap changes as I warmed the printer bed up from ambient temperature, where it sat overnight, up to a bed temperature of 70C and then eventually a bed temperature of 100C. The plan was to start with 70C and keep measuring the z-tilt changes and heightmap changes every 15 minutes until those stabilized and then move the bed temperature up to 100C and repeat the same process....

After a Pause & Resume MCU 'mcu' shutdown: Rescheduled timer in the past

During a print, I have pressed pause (on my klipperscreen), did some maintainance on the printed part (removed a blob of filament) and pressed resume (on my klipper screen). the toolhead starts to move to the proper location, however in the middle of the move, I get a MCU shutdown error. Usb devices being reset during print

During prints I'm losing usb connection to my tool board. Lost communication with MCU 'toolboard_t0' Running dmesg -T shows all the devices being reset?...

Motors not moving on newly-build GRBL/Arduino CNC mill.

Does this channel have to be for Rat Rig machines? I figured I'd ask here since there has to be some overlap. So I'm currently retrofitting a Roland MDX-40 with a newer board. I'm using an Arudino Mega 2560 with the CNC hat and DRV8825 drivers and GRBL-Mega-5X for the motion control. My first issue is this: with everything hooked up and turned on, the motors have holding torque (I can't turn them by hand) but do not move at all. If I jog or issue move commands through UGS, GRBL thinks they are moving, but nothing happens....

hot end thermister reports 126.8°C when off

When setting a temperature or doing a calibration, the temp goes in the opposite direction and then klipper crashes.

Solution:

Ah it's all good. I had the wrong hot end and thermister selected in the configurator when I set up.

Fresh V-Core 4 RatOS 2.1 RC1 klipper fails to connect

I've been attempting to start the commissioning process. I've flashed and reflashed the OS freshly multiple times. I continue to get that klipper cannot start. moonraker logs are fine, but klipper fails. The first time the toolhead board reported no file or directory. This time the beacon is erroring in the log with no file or directory. I'm not sure how to proceed forward....

Solution:

OK the reason is because I had plugged the beacon sensor connector to the toolhead after screwing down the sensor, which didn't have enough room to fully seat while the sensor is mounted. I removed the sensor, firmly connected the cable, re-installed the sensor, and after that, everything start up.

klipper suddenly stopped

I woke up this morning to my printer having suddenly stopped at some point last night with this message on ratos. I restarted everything and tried to fire it up again. Had issues with the print job so cancelled it, changed up my gcode and sent it again. Now I can't get my printer to do anything and I keep getting this message. I have no idea why or what happened all of a sudden and I don't understand what it's saying the problem might be.

ATC Semitec 104NT thermistor vs ATC Semitec 104GT-2

My Rapido 2 hotend came with a 104nt thermistor and I’ve just noticed that the rapido.cfg file that I’m using has the thermistor as a 104gt-2. What difference would this make? Should I override this setting with the correct type?

X and Y moving simultaneously

Hello everyone, I recently had to rebuild my printer after it suffered a catastrophic failure. Now I have everything working again, however as you can see from this video when moving in x it jumps a little in Y, and vice versa. My belt tension appears to be okay, so I’m a bit stumped ....

Problem solved. Screw was lose on the stepper motor pulley

Beacon start up print Move out of range

So when i finally got my beacon up and running after some fiddling. I went to start a small test print. Ive done the probe calibration and saved the config. It preheats and does the z tilt one time. But the rehoming after the z tilt and homing z tells it that the move is out of range. Probably a easy fix but been fiddling so mutch with this now that ive no idea where to look atm

mcu 'toolboard': Unable to connect

I have a v core 3.1 500, with a btt octopus pro mainboard with tmc5160 drivers for x and y motors running on 48V. Been using this printer for 18 months without a toolhead board (originally had a ebb42 board but it failed and went back to wiring direct to octopus board) Never used ratos before, but i like the look of the new features so bought a new ebb42 board and have fully installed and updated ratos 2.0, modifed printer.cfg but at the end of the process get the klipper error : mcu 'toolboard': Unable to connect i used ssh to have a look at the install and canboot directory not there. Does ratos use this? Or is my install incomplete?...

Internal error on command:"Z_TILT_ADJUST_ORIG"

The last week i am using the beacon probe and works perfect, today i just start a print and the printer works like crazy, the probing start from wrong points and almost crash the printhead several times. How do I reverse my controller fan

I need to reverse my controller fan, when my printer is idling, its on 100%, as soon as it starts moving it turns off. I need to fix this. I got as far as to writing:

[Resolved] Z offset is damaging my printer.

My z-offset is so off that it already scratched the grit off my satin sheet, but the bed presses so hard into my nozzle, the z joints can LIFT off. Also my z goes in the wrong direction when using the movement macros, regardless of me switching dir or not. Very weird problems here. I have attached images, videos, printer cfgs, and am very responsive. This is nuclear lol....
