Can I fix my octopus v1.1?

I have burned my board and I don't know if it could be recovered. I put "accidentally" 2 jumpers on fan voltage selection and it has burned. And when I turn it on everything seems normal but it doesn't detect the board...

Moving toolhead power my fan

Moving the toolhead by hand powers the fan and toolbard

Solution:

This is normal. A stepper motor is a generator when manual driven. Suggested not to move things too fast but seeing some power generated is normal

Part fan runs 100%

Just got it wired up (VC4 400h), and it runs 100% no matter the settings in the configuration. Log attached. Wiring is according to the guide, white wire from toolboard PA0 to the white wire on the fan. Power is fine, it's running the correct direction and sounds like a vacuum cleaner. I've also checked for continuity from the toolboard PA0 to the fan side of the connector via back probing while everything is connected, and it is connected. Not sure what to check next....

Solution:

With the wire from the toolboard jumped to the blue fan wire, it works as expected. So the instructions didn't cover the particular fan I have. This one: 1 x Fan - 4028 Axial - NIDEC W40S12BS2E5-57T04HF9 (12V 1.61A 25000RPM) US$19.16...

I'm having layer shifts repeatedly in the same spot. I've done multiple slices and prints but it always happens here. Any advice?

Hotend still reading wrong even after numerous fix attempts

I am running a Goliath Hotend. This started a few months back and through it was a fluke, however I can no longer use the printer anymore at this rate. I am getting ADC Temp out of range on the hotend. First weird issue that happened it was showing hotter then normal. 55C on the hotend when usually my stuff idles at 23C. This didn't cause any errors per say but I went ahead restarted the printer just to be sure. Still showed 55C. Left the printer be while I worked on something else, came back and it was 23C like I expected. Printed on it for 60-80 hours without issue. ...

BTT TMC5160T

Solution:

All of the 5160s have to have all of the jumpers while your 2209s for z or extruder have only the single jumper

hot end thermister reports 158.7°C when off

When setting a temperature or doing a calibration, the temp goes in the opposite direction and then klipper crashes with error "HEATER EXTRUDER NOT HEATING AT EXPECTED RATE"

Part Cooling Fan not working BTT Octopus MAX EZ - New VC4 Build

Hi, I am having an issue getting my Part Cooling Fan to work on my new Octopus MAX EZ board and EBB42 Toolboard. I have set the 12v jumper on one of the FAN ports on the board and have plugged the PWM on the Toolboard according to the build guide but the fan will not spin. I have tested with a second 4028 fan but still nothing. The PWM displays in Mainsail. I have continuity along the wiring so that seems good. My 24v electronics FANs work fine when the steppers start so the 24v rail works. How can I check that I am getting 12V from the FAN port on the Octopus MAX EZ??? Any help would really be appreciated. I hope its not a faulty 12v rail on a new board......

Solution:

Hi, I have managed to get the fan working by connecting the 12v to the MFAN port. As soon as the printer powers on the fan spins at 100% so it's getting the 12v it needs. I am guessing the 4 2pin VFAN ports have an issue with the 12v rail and the MFAN must by using a different 12v rail. Looks like it's a faulty Board... Now just need to get it replaced by BTT.

new vcore-3.1 500 do not extrude whit LGX and rapido phateus v2

Hello everyone, I'm encountering an issue with my RatRig V-Core 3.1 500mm. I've installed a new LGX extruder and a Phateus Rapido V2 hotend. Despite configuring everything correctly, the extruder clogs after about two layers and stops extruding. I've tried increasing the temperature to over 300 degrees, but the problem persists. the extruder try to extrude, but there is a block on the hotend... i've try to replace the hotend whit a newest but the problem persist...Has anyone experienced a similar issue or have any suggestions for other things I might try? Thank you in advance for your help!...

Deki Goes BRRRRRR at 0% fan speed and full send at boot

Hello all! I've just installed my new 4028 to my hot end, followed the instructions posted online and the moment I turn the printer on it's goes BRRRRRRRRR and doesn't stop until i put the fan to 100% speed on Mainsail (?!) Before I route the ground to the hotend as show in this guide, is this the resolution to my problem? My last Deki was fried and it took a while for this one to show up so i don't want to kill another one!!...

Unable to flash controller

My system seemed to go in the fritz today. I heard the part fan running full blast. This usually means that the controller has lost connection to the Raspi. I looked at the klipperscreen and it was blank. Tried to reboot but nothing happened. It was like there was no SD card in it. Communication timeout during homing Z

I recently upgraded my Vcore 3.1 with a RR toolhead with EBB 42 V1.2 USB C toolboard, and every once in a while I get this error where it fails to home my Z. My setup uses a Superpinda probe and I didn't have any issues with the EVA head I had before. It seems I'm not the only one, and I hope some people may have found a solution for this.

Mainsail gcode viewer doesn't working correct

Mainsail gcode viewer doesn't tracking print process on any Color Mode/Render Quality except Low (or Force Line Rendering). I also made a second instance for ratos, but there is no way to check whether this is the case.

Octopus v1.1 not sending signal to heated bed *fresh RatOS instal*

Fresh install for ratos 2.0 everything works like normal but the heated bed is not activating. I powered the SSD with a PSU and it heats as it should and I tried a brand new octopus mcu with no luck. I think I've narrowed the issue down to the octopus with a multimeter, I know you have to ask it and yes the bed is wired correctly lol it worked without issue before fresh ratos instal. I believe it's just not sending a signal to the ssd from the bed out. I didn't change the pin-out for the heated bed in the printer.cfg, at least not that I am aware of. Is there anywhere else that I could have been changed something by mistake possibly? Thanks for any help you can offer....

Rough HG15 linear rails

I am assembling my vcore 4. I am preparing the HG15 z rails, however two out of three of the rails are rough throughout their full range of motion. I've tried to demonstrate this in the video. I have disassembled the rails and confirmed each has the correct number of ball bearings in all four channels. The ball bearings themselves all move smoothly in their channels. I have applied three in one oil directly to the ball bearings, loosened end caps and tapped with a mallet, as per troubleshooting steps....

MCU Protocol error. Cant update klipper version.

Hi mates, after last full update, it seems that my VC3.1 doesnt work. I tried to update klipper with the configurator, octopus V1.1 board (automatic flashing, supposedly) where the setup detect a version mismatch too, but automatic flashing doesnt work, and flash manually with SD seems that the board cant burn firmware.bin. Any ideas to restore it? Thanks....

VC4 * 500 Gantry warping issues as printer heats

Hi, My VC4 * 500 build is pretty much completed and I have been trying to run through an exhaustive set of testing and calibrating the printer. I am coming over from a VC3.0 500 that I built in 2021. One of the big issues with the VC3.0 was the bed mesh never being stable on that printer until I heat soaked it for 30-45 minutes before I used it. I tried a number of things to get around that but the only thing that ever worked was just letting it warm up and then it went on its marry way. With the VC4 I was hoping to get away from warming up the printer but it seems to have similar issues as the VC3 though Beacon help a ton vs the original bltouch and then superpinda on my VC3. Last night as I was doing some testing trying to fine tune my first layer on the VC4 I had it dialed down to almost perfect. I took a break for about 30 minutes and came back and planned to just try to find tune that last 0.005 in baby steps. When I tried picking up from where I left the printer it was like I forgot to save my z offset. It was completely off and I had to back off where I left off by 0.05 to get it back to clean again. The only change between those tests was I left the bed on and the front door of the enclosure. I did a few more tests and it seemed to be staying right where I left it so I called it a night. Today I figured I would document z-tilt changes and heightmap changes as I warmed the printer bed up from ambient temperature, where it sat overnight, up to a bed temperature of 70C and then eventually a bed temperature of 100C. The plan was to start with 70C and keep measuring the z-tilt changes and heightmap changes every 15 minutes until those stabilized and then move the bed temperature up to 100C and repeat the same process....
