Hi guys Ray here, so I bought the ratrig 3.1 400mm about six months ago and to this day I have had nothing but issues and have not been able to print anything yet. My issue right now is the rapido hotend, the macro.cfg files has a line to preset the temp to 150, since I am trying to commission the printer I type in this line PID_CALIBRATE HEATER=extruder TARGET=235, the temperature section in mainsail shows extruder temp of 150 (however it is cold to the touch) as soon as I execute that command...

4028 Fan inverted control

Hi all I have got a question, I have V-Core 3.1 and I have connected 4028 Fan, +12V is from stepdown, GNf pole is on heater 1 as enable pin and PWM is in toolboard EBB42 v1.2 PA0. But the Fan runs the oposite way if I send M106 S1 it runs at 100% and as I am going higher M106 S5 - 255 the fan slows down how can Iinvert the logic? BTT Octopus v1.1 not showing up over usb even in dfu mode

To expand on the title, this happens when i have 24v connected and when I don't. I am honestly at my wits end for how to make this octopus show up. All the proper lights turn on, but there is still no device detected (tested on multiple devices and on windows and linux), but still no dice, for both dfu and regular mode. Any advice would be appreciated. I am open to buying a new mainboard, but I want that to be a last resort

VCore 3.1 random klipper error

Hi I'm getting a klipper error message as seen below. The printer is stalled and will not function since this happened and afaik no settings were changed.

VC3.1 Orbiter Extruder Skipping

Removed PTFE tube to eliminate that. Removed and cleaned the nozzle a number of times. Not sure what to check next....

VC3.1 500 upgrade. Rear bed z drops when unpowered.

I just upgraded my machine from 3.0 to 3.1 and after the upgrade the rear Z won't seem to hold the bed in place when unpowered. I'm assuming this has something to do with the new bi-material coupler but I have yet to find a way to 'tension' the connection so that it doesn't drop 40mm. Any thoughts/solutions for this issue?...

MCU Not connecting. Klipper Log provided. After swapping from Octopus V1.1 to Pro h723 V1.1

Getting a connecting issue with no error code. But the log is showing that no File or Directory for Pro V1.1 is found. Not really sure what is going on to cause this. Board flashed and shows up under usb devices. Changed the board option in Printer.cfg

WTF.... How does that actually work @miklschmidt Sorry for the Ping.. But I'd like to understand this for if I am helping someone else...

Error After Replacing Euclid Switch

I unsoldered and resoldered a new switch on my Euclid probe. Now I’m getting the error “Shutdown due to expected probe state to be deployed but is stowed (1)”. Did I solder the switch on backwards? The light still comes on and turns off when the switch is triggered....

Best way to remove RTV glue from keenovo heater pad?

I origionally had a 3m adhesive backing on it, but due to some dumb issues on my part during my initial install a year or two ago i forgot to remove the protective sheet from the bed so it came off and I had to redo it with RTV glue. Fast-forward to now, and the thermal fuse on my heating pad died. I managed to replace that with some helpful hints from other channels in this discord (yall rock), but I am having issues removing the rtv glue from the heating pad prior to re-gluing it back on to the bed. Is there any way to remove the rtv glue without damaging the heating pad?...

Solution:

for follow up if anyone ever needs to do this, here is what I did. I soaked a paper towel in Rio Methyl Alcohol and laid it on top of the heater pad against the RTV glue. After letting it sit for about 20 minutes I removed a corner of it and started to scrub with a microfiber towel and it came right up without issue.

Beacon revH - bed mesh hangs klipper/mainsail

Just added a Beacon revH to my RR400. Updated the printer.cfg, removed the references to the previous probe (klicky). The probe itself seems to work fine for Z homing and Z tilt calibration. However, when I try to do a bed mesh, the printer becomes unresponsive at the end of the scan. I've tried various configurations for the bed mesh. I've seen others use as high as a 50x50 mesh with the beacon probe. I've tried lowering the probe_count all the way to 7x7....

LDO-36STH20-1004AHG (XH) getting hot

Hello folks, I have an Orbiter 2 with LDO-36STH20-1004AHG (XH) steper motor and a mosquito magnum hotend. When I built the vcore3 first I used the normal orbiter.cfg but got a really low flowrate. So I changed it to the [include RatOS/extruders/orbiter-1004.cfg]. I have no overrides for steppers done yet. Now the stepper is getting really hot over time, but flowrate is perfect. It is getting hot too, when I don´t extrude filament. So hot, it is barely touchable. Is this normal? ...

Solution:

I run 4 sherpas across many printers. I know its not exactly the Orbiter but maybe I can give you a bit of insight. The motor does get too hot to the touch during normal operation. I print a lot of ABS, and on my DOOMCUBES, I am getting 75C chamber temps. Again, no issues on the motor. I would doublecheck your currents and make sure they are appropriate for the motor though. Less current=less heat as the expense of pushing power.

Orbiter seems to be heating TPE

I am trying to figure out why printing with TPE stops (as if jammed) At first I thought that I had heat creep from the Revo nozzle into the heat sink and that the filament was "swelling" due to the heat before it went into the nozzle and thus jamming. So I lowered the nozzle temp down to the recommended minimum that the filament manufacturer stipulates, 220c. This went better but the jamming happened again. I then pulled the filament out and only the realized that it was "Swelling" while still in the Orbiter extruder (v2). It then cannot exit the hole in the extruder and starts to skip/grind the filament....

LGX Lite first test - TMC 'extruder' reports error

Having a Vcore 3.1 500, I had to extend the wiring from the tool head. Homing XYZ works perfectly as well as the Z tilt. Beacon (Again)

Sorry for this.. WAY to many results and none are working towards my issue.. and docs arent (at least that I can find) updated. So, took my 3.1 (with beacon) and figured start clean.. new SD card etc. edited my printer config to indicate Beacon and its constantly saying triggered. Not going to try homing in that state (bad things can happen).. so aside of selecting beacon as my probe is there anything additional to be done to printer config?

Raspberry pad 5 - black screen CM4

I've tried following the instructions as best as possible to replace my Pi3b with a cm4 in a raspberry pad 5 I bought a year ago with a BTT CB1 8 didn't realise wouldn't work with a pi image at the time. I've tried flashing the Sd card with the Rat OS image, but the screen is just black. I accidentally bought the non WiFi CM4 and not sure if I need to connect the raspberry pad to my router via network cable to access the pi to make changes to get the screen on, any help would be massively appreciated #help #cm4 #rapberrypad5...

V-Core 3 - Octopus 1.1 and RPi connection issue - 'mcu': Unable to connect

After first bed mesh probing with Beacon H the printer stopped responding. Klipper returns the error: "mcu 'mcu': Unable to connect". Reinstallation from scratch (new images for the Pi and the board)didn't help. It seems RPi works fine, but it still cannot connect to the board. Tried flashing with RPi and PC via DFU, none of them worked. Under USB devices the unknown one shows, similar to yours, but I don't see DFU connection. Can I check something else or is the bard fired?

Can't install firmware on new board

I just replaced my Octopus 429 with a 446 and can't figure out how to flash the firmware on the new board. My Pi setup is still good and I have Mainsail up. The instructions direct me to http://ratos.local/configure?step=1# but all I get is a 500 internal server error.
