Raspberry pad 5 - black screen CM4

I've tried following the instructions as best as possible to replace my Pi3b with a cm4 in a raspberry pad 5 I bought a year ago with a BTT CB1 8 didn't realise wouldn't work with a pi image at the time. I've tried flashing the Sd card with the Rat OS image, but the screen is just black. I accidentally bought the non WiFi CM4 and not sure if I need to connect the raspberry pad to my router via network cable to access the pi to make changes to get the screen on, any help would be massively appreciated #help #cm4 #rapberrypad5...

V-Core 3 - Octopus 1.1 and RPi connection issue - 'mcu': Unable to connect

After first bed mesh probing with Beacon H the printer stopped responding. Klipper returns the error: "mcu 'mcu': Unable to connect". Reinstallation from scratch (new images for the Pi and the board)didn't help. It seems RPi works fine, but it still cannot connect to the board. Tried flashing with RPi and PC via DFU, none of them worked. Under USB devices the unknown one shows, similar to yours, but I don't see DFU connection. Can I check something else or is the bard fired?

Can't install firmware on new board

I just replaced my Octopus 429 with a 446 and can't figure out how to flash the firmware on the new board. My Pi setup is still good and I have Mainsail up. The instructions direct me to http://ratos.local/configure?step=1# but all I get is a 500 internal server error.

Strange smell after enabling performance mode on steppers

I added a fan for my steppers a while ago and was going through my printer.cfg and saw the section for improved performance for the drivers. I commented out the previous driver section and uncommented the "cooled" section. I tried a PA test print and everything went smoothly except there was a new weird smell. It seems like it was coming from the motors. The motors also are more "musical" now. Not bad, they just sound different. I had just run the same test the previous day with no smell s...

Klipper fails after hard Recovery

Hey all, After clicking hard recovery for klipper on Mainsail, Klipper won´t run again (Section 'ratos_homing' is not a valid config section). I´ve seen the help article (https://os.ratrig.com/docs/troubleshooting/) but can´t follw the steps. When using it´s IP/configure I get "error 502 Bad Gateway". RatOs.Local/configure was broken on my machine since I got it. Starting it without internet connection wont help - same problem there when trying to configure the machine. Is there any way to get around this issue (hopefully excluding a complete reinstall)? Thanks a lot!...
Solution:
When trying to reach that page. Afterall I did two full reinstalls. After the first one I made all the Updates and ran into the same problem. On the second try I left out the Klipper and RatOS Updates and waited for new releases before updating. Not a satisfying solution, but worked for me and narrowed the origin of the error down ^^...

parts cooling fan is going on and off during print.

Hi, The 4028 fan is having a weird behavior. During long prints it goes on and off randomly. When I check the UI, it stays at 100%. Here is a video showing that behavior...
Solution:
I had the same thing happening because of a broken wire. redid all three and it worked fine afterwards.

Clicking noise on x/y axis travel

So, I'm new to Ratrig/Vcore, as I recently picked up a Vcore 3 for a very reasonable price. I'll start this weekend with really sitting down and making sure the printer is fully squared, then making sure everything's nice and clean and properly set. Anyways, in my initial testing of the unit, I've noticed this clicking during some movements, and it appears to be coming from the vicinity of the back right motor/roller assembly. My gut tells me bearing, but on a printer I'm not fully knowledgeable in, it could also be many super specific corner cases....
Solution:
You can use a screwdriver held up to your ear as a kind of stethoscope to hear better where it is coming from

Extruder temperature is going crazy.

If I leave the extruder heater at let say 250 celsius for 30 minutes is pretty stable. During the print is reaching insane high peaks. I've not been using the printer so much lately but last time there were no issue at all. Now I cannot complete even the firstlayer_test print which is a 25 minutes print. What's happening?

Front right Z motor not working

Hello, My front right Z motor of my VCORE 3 300 almost never works whenever i start my printer. For example i start the homing / tilt procedure and the motor is not working (no torque, no enable signal?). Altough once it starts working ... it works perfectly ... I have no idea how to start debugging this since ultimately it is able to work properly....

Bed not heating

I’m nearing the end of a V-Core 3.1 500mm build. Everything on the machine is working exactly as expected except for one issue.
I’m using a Raspberry Pi 4 connected to an Octopus 1.1. Everything is wired correctly. But, the 24v that is supposed to come from the Octopus to the SSR to switch on the bed heater isn’t there. I’ve checked in the [Heater_Bed] section and the pin is defined as PA1, which is correct according to the 1.1 datasheet. When I apply external power, the light on the SSR illuminates and the bed begins to heat.
Initially, I thought it was a bad Octopus 1.1, so I replaced it. The same issue is still present. Since it is present on multiple main boards, and all the components work as expected, even the heater when the SSR is triggered manually, I assume it has to be a Config issue, but I’m not finding it. ...

Y motor seems to be losing torque on X moves

My Y axis just started slipping when my x moves. I think the motor is losing torque or something is slipping. When the X moves the Y also moves a bit. Not sure where to start? Bad motor? Bad driver? I do have some spare drivers, that I Guess I can test. Could it be that? This printer has been working really well for a long time, and this just started during my last print....
Solution:
OMG.... I'm m kinda embarrassed to report that I found a issue, probably the issue......A timing pulley had slipped off the motor somehow and was just free spinning....sigh

Part Fan works in dashboard but not during prints

If I try my part fan with the slider on the dashbaord it works fine I see the RPM's and the fan turns. During prints it will go to 80% (which I configured) and the fan icon is turning but the RPM is red with 0 ROM and the fan is off. If i try to change speed nothing happens it will show the new speed but RPM is red and fan ramains off....

Prints often fail at this Z height

Greetings, I've had about 10 different small-parts prints fail at around the pictured height. Mainsail says 40 -50 Z height but i forget how much the bed drops when you cancel a job. Nozzle usually hits the print or supports and the print fails. What could this be, I've meshed and re-meshed, currently at around .188 bed range on my Vcore 400 , belts look good and resonance is good. On lower layers the nozzle often scrapes prints when traveling to the next object on the bed. Using RatRig Toolhead...

VCore 3.1 500 skipping

I upgraded my Vcore 3.0 500 to 3.1. I also installed the FMMM mod as well as motor decouplers for the x and y motors and also a cnc machined x beam. I am using the TMC2226 stepper drivers with 1.5A of drive current each on 24V supply, they are actively cooled. When trying to print above 70mm/s speed (for perimeters as well as infill) I got the issue that stepper motors loose steps and therefore the printhead gets shifted in the right back corner from where it should be. Does anyone of you have a solution or idea on how to fix this issue? ...

arsnevada

I get error "horizontal_move_z can't be less than z offset" on printing. Vcore 3.1 with ratOS. Tried all I can thinki off including z-offset adjust many times. Any ideas?

I need correct pinout for 1st gen (old, original) X/Y endstops for v-Core 3 and Octopus Pro 442

As message says... I have switched from RRF to RatOS and everything works, except endstops, which, when connected, trip my smart plug (I think I was lucky with that one). The endstops are 1st gen, and I remember something about some pins needing to be switched around. I have attached a picture with the pinout at the endstop side....
Solution:
From what I see it looks ok to me

V-MiniON bed heater - strange behavior

This behavior started happening a few days ago. Heating bed to target temperature is flawless. As long as NOT printing, the heater PWM is stable, no jumps, everything is fine. A few minutes after actual print starts, bed heater PWM starts going all over the place, as well as reported bed temperature. This doesn't happen immediately, but roughly 6 to 8 minutes AFTER printing starts. ...

at a loss with Ratos configuration wizard

Unfortunately I can't get any further. I have played the company more on the SD card and then transferred it to the mainboard, everything worked perfectly. If I continue now and click on the check button, nothing happens. Do you know this or do you have a solution?...

Z TILT is never perfect

Hello everyone. I would like to ask you what would the best coordinates for z tilt probing? I am trying to improve how my vcore 3.1 does this procedure as I always find one corner os the bed a bit too raised and by consequence, the other is always a bit too low. I know its a problem with this because when I calibrate with paper below the klicky probe, It levels perfectly, so, its not a warped bed. Thank you all in advance...
