octopus 1.1 usb over serial canbus "Option 'serial' is not valid in section 'mcu'

I'm building a ratrig 400. I'm having an octopus v1.1 with an EBB36 v1.2 toolboard. I'm running the system with the BTT PAD 7 with a CB1 as control board, so no rpi. To minimise the cables I decided to use the octopus in usb over serial mode. (I read the docs and I know it is prefered to use the toolhead via usb) I have configured the canbus uuid in the printer.cfg section, but Klipper is stil complaining about "Option 'serial' is not valid in section mcu" ....

Extruder Stepper getting hot at iddle and vibrates

Hello everyone, Just got back to work after a month and found most of 3d printer farms broken by my lovely colleagues lol. The vcore 500 has one belt broken and has been replaced by me yesterday. Anyway, I was about to do some calibration when I found the extruder stepper vibrating (Bondtech LGX lite - RR kit), I dismantle the stepper and found it to be very hot after 5/10min which makes me think about short ? or the stepper driver failure ? Once I press extrude, it vibrates (like wrong polarity)....

v-minion - rattling noise

Hi! I could not figure out what is the source of this horrible rattling noise. I was thinking it is a fan shroud (was not flush with back plate), reprinted and reassembled the whole EVA - but it is still there. It feels it might be a X rail. Printer is second hand, so I don't know what is the rail quality and what happened before, but rails are RR stock ones I think. ...

3 frame corners square, but 4th not.

I'm reassembling my frame to make sure it's 100% square, and I have run into this problem. in Frame assembly step 12, I'm checking the frame for squareness, and 3 of the 4 corners are square. am I incorrect in assuming that the only way it can be true is if my square measure tool is bent (i checked that a coulpe of times), or one or more of the 3030 extrusions are not the same length or one is slightly bent?

I'm not finding where I can change the homing settings. I want the printer to bump on the left side of X. Motors and everything else is working fine. It's just the homing behavior I want to change....

Fine bed mesh, but bad first layer in some parts of the bed but good in others.

I have a 500mm Vcore with a beacon probe, and my bed mesh variance is around .350. Most of this variance is in the X axis, in the form of waves. However, when I try to sequentially print tall parts lined up on the Y axis, some have way too high first layers while others are perfect. What could be causing this? Theories: Printer is ignoring the bed mesh Frame is heating and warping between sequential prints...

[Closed - Upgrade 3.0 to 3.1] Lead screw too short by 20mm

Hello everyone, I purchased from ratrig the V-Core 3.0 300mm in 2021. I just finished the upgrade to the 3.1 version with the supplied ratrig kit. I noticed that my leadscrews are 360 mm instead of 380 mm like indicated in the 3.1 BOM. As a result I can't level my bed without the bed arm colliding with the leadscrew top guides. Maybe I am missing something in the assembly. I can't find the 3.0 BOM if they state that they provided 360 mm or 380 mm leadscrews back in 2021. If someone that made the upgrade could check their leadscrews length I would greatly appreciate the support. Thank you....

MCU lost connection, but only once and then it's fine

This is is an odd issue. When I first power on my printer, and try to run a print, I get a lost connection to mcu toolboard error when attempting to run z tilt (it stops at the first probe point). HOWEVER, after a shutdown and restart of the printer, I can run the printer all day long and it won't happen again.

Hello all... can use some help diagnosing issue

Ok, i just returned from a backpacking trip. Before my trip, i was printing something, once it completed, it parked the print head like normal and actual powered it's self off. Never had that done before. But it would NOT power back on. So, thinking power supply is out. Got a new one, hooked it up.... it turns on, but still is wrong. First the bed will not heat up. Second, i can't get the hot end or part cooling fan to turn on. So I quit trying anything and stepped back.... is it possible that the board is damaged? The hot end will start heating up, but the fan will not kick on. Anyway I can confirm my theory about the board or any other ideas or suggestions? Thanks Jim...

hello there, swapped boards, and got to initial set up, when trying to calibrate z, its showing "" Endstop z still triggered after retract " checking the trigger statue, X is open, Y is open, Z and probe says triggerd, although its far away, and the only motion i got was downward and then the error message, i tried to add a " ! " instead of the " ^ " on the line, the stautes became open for all 3 axis and probe, but it crashes and doesnt detect the bed upon calibration. ...

Rat rig V-Core 3 Unable to connect to IP Address

I've moved my Rat rig from sitting on a table where it had been uneven onto the floor, in that process I didn't unplug any wires and now I am unable to connect to my IP Address Program. I've looked through the Fix-my-printer but am unable to find anything relating. I just Interchanged the ethernet wire from my Desktop to my printer and it should work but doesn't. Do you think I damaged a part of my printer or could it be a software issue? Thank you....

MAX31865 Not working

Hey everyone, I need some help before I (completely) lose my sanity 🙂 I am building a v-core 3.1 with an octopus pro f446 and a rapido plus (pt1000). Since it has a pt1000 thermistor, when I connect it to the normal thermistor port, I get readings of -65c, so I need to use the built in max31865 port on the board.
