Black lines/shader errors beneath floating islands with AND without shaders
tested on the latest release for DH for 1.21.1 also on the latest nightly and same result. Same result when shaders ON.
using big globe modlist:
- Big Globe
- Big Globe - Biome Tags
- Big Globe - Towns and Towers Compatibility...

DH uses 100% cpu
This makes no sense to me because ive been testing
if i run minecraft at 32 chunks native with shaders i only get about 20-40% cpu usage with 14gb allocated
distant horizons i tried it with my vanilla render distance on 12 and lod gen set to balanced, all the same settings but lowered normal chunks and my cpu gets used 100%
cpu is i5 13600kf and no it does not thermal throttle...

I installed a mod called "no max building height limit" to build higher up and ever since it broke my Distant Horizons, ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling both oculus and DH, was wondering if anyone had any solutions?
im using DH 2.1.2

Distant Horizons Crash on Startup
Just to give some context, I’m running a system with 64GB of RAM, an Intel i9-14900K, and an RTX 4090. The other day, I had some time to play Minecraft and decided to try out the Distant Horizons mod. I kept things simple for testing — no shaders, no other mods, just Distant Horizons.
I created a brand new world, and once I loaded in, the chunks rendered fine at first. But as soon as I tried to move, the screen went white, the game started loading again, and eventually I got an “Application Not Responding” message.
I lowered my in-game render distance to 12 and set the Distant Horizons distance to 35, but the same issue happened....
not properly loading in previously loaded chunks
for some unknown reason to me when i look back at certain chunks after passing through them they will not render.... another issue is blocks that i should be able to see and would be able to see without distant horizons are loading in their simplified forms even though i am barely off the ground. this ia happening on a multiplayer server i havent tested it in single player though

Help with distant horizons not working Lunar client
Im trying to use distant horizons as a mod on lunar client. on 1.21.4 but it says it needs indium to work with sodium. and so i got indium but couldn tfind one for 1.21.4 so i just used 1.21.1 but it still says it needs indium. and keeps crashing
What is the performance impact of DH server-side?
I am considering installing DH server-side for my 1.21.5 Fabric server. The server typically has 2-6 players with 6GB ram and a suite of optimization mods.
I'd like to know whether DH significantly impacts the network (does it need high upload?) and if it requires more ram. What settings would you recommend configuring, if any?...
Holes appearing sometimes that makes underground caves visible.
I know the bot is probably gonna answer about vanilla terrain not loading fast enough. But is there any workaround to hide the caves? I saw an option about cave culling below y60 but doesn't seem to work. Also why does mine look different from others? It has cross hatching effect. I'm using 1.20.1 with all the popular performance mods and no shaders.
Solution:
Q: There are holes at the edge of vanilla Render Distance, especially during movement
A: This is caused by either vanilla terrain not loading in fast enough, or shader's incorrect overdraw prevention implementation or configuration (if you use one)
Some world gen speed improvement can be found when adding these three mods, but the affect will be minor:

Why is DH 2.3.x so ridiculously slow?
When I load my lods in a world, the 2.2.x version takes around 20 seconds to load a 256 render distance with low cpu setting usage. My cpu is a i7-3770, 11 year old cpu that can manage DH perfectly
Now, with 2.3.2 version it takes, with the same settings, around 10 minutes! If I set up the cpu usage to the max it can, at the cost of throttling, take 1-3 minutes depending
Latest update (you can check the notes) reduced slightly the lod's loading. I am aware. But I notice that the loading takes too long to be slightly. So, any help? How can i fix it?...
Question about preloading chunks
Hi everyone, I'm starting a server with Distant Horizons, and before players join, I'd like to preload chunks to avoid overloading the world and also have a clean Distant Horizons with no empty chunks. Could someone guide me through this process?

Lods looking black from lan
i'm hosting my own server in my pc , everything was working fine but today i moved the files from one disk to another , now when i enter from the lan link lods won't load , but when i enter from the ip domain it looks fine

Game crashes with new DH version
I recently updated from 1.21 to 1.21.4, and when attempting to join a world (local or server) the game crashes. This is not a problem on 1.21

Solution:
ok.... are you ready for it to get even weirder? I just had the idea to disable rendering from the config screen on the main menu. I'm able to then join the world (but with rendering disabled). If I then enable it once I've loaded into the world I crash...
However..... If instead of just clicking it to re-enable it I instead press the reset button next to enable renderings (which just changes the option back to true) I am able to use DH & join/leave whenever I want (on any of my worlds and servers???)...

Render Pause?
For some reason my DH only loads in when I have my CPU usage set to 5, but it worked for 3 before and also the loading is super janky now, is there a way to hard reset everything?
