Sthere is this nice third party ffb program that works over dcs and allows me to tune the spring, damper, and friction while trimming and normal flying.
Sso I can set it to only friction and it will act like your cm3 in theory lol
原hmmm, isn't it that like many "bigger" helo, apache's cyclic has centering force when force trim release button is not depressed? by magnet or spring. iirc when the force trim release button is depressed, the magnet will be disengaged and gone with the centering force; once the button is released/un-depressed, the new centering position is set to the current position and the centering force is back, no?

原with springless & dampered bases like T-50CM3, the problem is the centering force part is missing. It's an compromised way, unless if it's for simulating something like a R22.
Dedicated Heli Cyclic like this one can do it but FFB base can do better since it can be reprogrammed to simulate lots of other types of aircraft.

原I think it's the way it should be..maybe try different parameters? weaker spring force for example? have no idea how strong the spring force is in helo tho

JThat's a really clever implementation. Had a similar idea in mind but couldn't really get it sorted. If I was flying only helis I'd start on it asap, but I do swap between planes and helis a lot so will have to stick with the long term plan of FFB.

WNje, not really, I kinda thought that it simulated the inertia/friction etc of a real cyclic (and the assorted bits and bobs it is connected to) i.e. you can't whip a real cyclic back and forth so quickly and that DCS simulates that. Odd though that the behaviour changes with trimmer mode.
WNo experince here though, I've only flown IRL small prop planes with control rods directly connected to the control surfaces.
WBut this will not move the SCAS window or am I missunderstanding how you use this program...

SIts just ffb feel, the scas window will still work if you have trim bound
SI think that if they want to add some kind of damper they should do it internally in the apache. But I dont think this is that, it just doesnt make sence to limit the input speed for ffb sticks and no spring ones but then leave center spring joysticks perfectly responsive
SAnd its really bad anyways because if you move the stick in real life your brain expects the one in game to be in the same position.

WGot the input loopback app running and talking with the Rhino 
PJust wanted to let ppl know that my first experiences using the RHINO base has been absolute positive! From my first impressions of the base itself, then the ease of initial set up, plus walmis has been active along with other discord members in helping answer questions in the support channel. I just want to let anyone know that may be on the fence about this product what type of experience I've had with it & it's creator! Thanks Walmis it's been a great experience!
