Looking for a Shortcut to Turn Off Display

Is there a way to turn off the display via a shortcut? I currently have it set to turn off the display after a certain amount of inactivity but sometimes I'm reading something or thinking while staring and the screen begins to turn off. I know I could increase the amount of time but then sometimes I just need a short break and would rather the screen be turned off so doing it by command would be nice. I looked online and tried setting a keyboard shortcut to xset dmps force off but no luck....

Copy / Paste buttons in Firefox doesn't work

Anytime there is a button in Firefox that you click to copy something (e.g. copy this code snippet buttons, the button doesn't work / doesn't add anything to my clipboard.). This has been the case on all three machines I've used Bazzite on - is there a permission I'm missing?...

Creating keyboard shortcut for rotating screen.

Hello, I tend to rotate my monitor frequently, and it is getting tedious to go into settings everytime to rotate the resolution. Is there any way to create a keyboard shortcut to set my monitor's rotation? Ideally, I would like something that works similarly to how irotate.exe works on Windows. Any help would be appreciated.

lact visual artifacts

Hey, I’ve noticed a problem after using a command in LACT. Right after applying the settings, visual artifacts start to appear — thin green horizontal lines across the screen, sometimes also green and purple. I’m running an RX 580 with an Intel i7 6700K and a 100Hz monitor. Everything works fine until I run that command, so I’m guessing something in the configuration is causing instability. Has anyone else seen this or knows what might be causing it?...

Rog Ally X crashes when waking up

I've got a Rog Ally X that has been failing to wake up after sleeping, it freezes and a hard reboot is required. Usually happens when sleeping for a long period and a game open. I'm noticing some HHD exceptions but not sure if that is the issue. I tried rolling back 42.20250417 but that resulted in the same issue. I don't remembering having this issue before that release. My device is running an eGPU with AG02 Dock. I've been having a good time overall with the eGPU but lately been seeing these crashes (past week or so). I've attached two logs that both froze when trying to wake up....

Possilble memory leak within kwin_wayland

Hey there. So I recently switched to Bazzite. And as much as I love the OS, after some time of the laptop running, the process Kwin_Wayland seems to start leaking memory. It allocates all of the free RAM, leading to the machine crashing. Here are the specs Ryzen 5 5600H 16GB DDR4 ram Nvidia Geforce GTX 1650 4GB 500GB internal SSD, and a 500GB external ssd, running through a Dell WD19 dock....

Win Mini 2024 - Brightness shortcuts not working

Hey all, I'm using Bazzite on a GPD Win Mini 2024 and for some reason, the brightness shortcuts (FN+F1 / FN+F2) don't do anything in game mode, they work on the desktop but I'd love to get them working in game mode if possible. I haven't tweaked the install much and wouldn't be able to tell you if it worked initially.

Solution:

That doesn't work in Game mode because laptop function (Fn) keys are sadly not handled by gamescope.

Bazzite (Ally X) > Heroic > GOG > Breath of Fire IV > Not launching

Linux noob here. Added the game to steam trough the heroic function and tried it manually in desktop mode. Doesn't seem to mater from where or how i start it, it gives me a short black window and closes, even from the heroic launcher itself. rpm-ostree errors

Hi there, I'm new to Linux and I am trying to install Refind via the terminal. When I try using rpm-ostree I keep getting this error: It may be the simple case of me doing something wrong, but I'm not sure what at this point. Any help would be appreciated 🙂 (I do have the file in my downloads folder)...

Thank you for the guide. I did manage to get it installed and I am using the latest version now (I don't know where I got the other one from). I think I'm also getting the hang of rpm-ostree too. Thanks for the help.

How do I install open-webui?

It seems to be available before on an old version of Bazzite but now it doesn't exist. When I try to install it via pip, it complains about my computer having Python 3.13, when open-webui needs Python 3.11. Thinking of downgrading Python to 3.11 but that might mess up my PC. I also tried the docker version of open-webui and it works. The problem is that it couldn't detect the Ollama service I have running via Terminal. So I installed the docker version of Ollama ROCM, but that can't seem to detect my 7900 XTX AMD GPU. I can use the Terminal version of Ollama just fine, only the open-webui doesn't work....

Grey screen when trying to install bazzite gnome but got grey screen

As the title suggests, when I attempt to boot my computer using a USB drive and select my bootable ISO file, I encounter a grey screen. However, I successfully installed the ISO file in troubleshooting mode with basic graphics. Nevertheless, when I boot my system, I’m greeted with another grey screen. Could you please provide some suggestions or ideas on how to resolve this issue? I have an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and a GeForce RTX 4070 Ti super graphics card....

Cannot type on keyboard, behaves like fn key is pressed

Hello, I have laptop ASUS U36SD, and as you can see on the photo, I have numbers on the right side of keyboard which are accessible via fn key, but when I pres "K" for example it will type "2" by default, so it behaves like fn key was pressed by default, which is nightmare to write, so I wonder how to fix it, I tried different keyboard layouts didnt help. Plasma desktop blackscreen

Recently I have run into an issue where my plasma desktop opens to a black screen. No wallpaper, no panel, and I am unable to open up the right click menu. I can still switch desktops however and use the virtual desktop view to open applications I just can't interact with the desktop. This started when i was messing around with theming my desktop until everything suddenly broke and I tried to reapply a global theme but that doesn't solve my issue....
