lost of conenction with mcu?

VC 500 -corexy - during my two first true rpint , I got twice the same behavior after soem time I got a mcu lost coennction?Any idea what's the possible reason? Adding note I use a rpi4 with a dedicacte raspbery certified power supply and it 's conenct trhough usb

Idex upgrade, "ADC out of range" - is there something wrong with my Rapido?

Hi, not sure if correct section to ask this, but here goes (please be kind on me for not finding anything by searching and using wrong names on stuff, I'm trying my best as a noob :-P). I got my hybrid to IDEX kit from Rat Rig and have a problem with "ADC out of range" on the new Rapido. I noticed that the new one is different from my old one, but not sure if this is a fault or a design change. ...

Solution:

Silly me actually managed to switch the wires on the hotend (thermistor and heating element). I belive myself lucky not to break anything, after I got it sorted everything works fine....

new ratos update, now cannot print

updated, received error when trying to print after update. Reflashed firmware thinking maybe there is a mismatch somewhere, updated then re-did config. Still getting the same error msg. Restored old image and it prints fine. I think it's a bug with the new update. 10:15 PM Welcome to RatOS v2.1.0 ...

VCore 4 500 IDEX Homing shakes the printer violently

The end stop works (see clip 1), but when in the home position the printer starts to shake violently (see clip 2).

Solution:

Ok, my bad. The motor for the second toolhead got mixed up with the right Y motor in the setup.

VCore 4 500 IDEX Toolheads move when moving gantry in Y

My X-belts are tight at 16.9 mm, my Y-belts are slightly more loose at 15.9 mm. Measured at approx. 10 cm from the front with the heads and gantry approx. in the middle....

V4 idex z offset issue

Hello, I need some advise. Im getting terrible z offset cal, between 0.17 and 0.175. I have checked everything and disassembled both heads, twice. Also swapped nozzle, because why not. I havent done what ratrig suggested, to use a shim as a last resort. But as far as i understand, this is only important if i use copy/mirror mode correct? For dual filament its ok? I dont think ill ever use copy/mirror mode. Should i bother to make it close to 0 as possible? What are the downsides of using a shim as a spacer?...

V-Core 3.1 PT1000 ADC out of range (toolboard fault, unknown cause)

I just finished a rather large print. When I was taking it off the bed, the extruder thermistor stopped working and showing the temperature is -255 degrees. I replaced the thermistor with another same PT1000, but it is still showing the same readings. After some investigation, I found the following readings were possible, but non within range: PT1000 connected: -255 degrees No thermistor connected: 878 degrees 104NT-4 connected: -252 degrees...

First layer prints fine then Extruder stops working

Hello, I just finished building my v4 500 Hybrid and tried printing my first print, the first layer prints real nice but mid second layer the extruder stops working properly. I marked the face of the shaft of the extruder with some sharpi and I can see that it only jerks back and forth not even a quarter of a rotation. I tried OrcaSlicer and PrusaSlicer changing the printer settings in both of them and even printing different stl files, no change so far. Any help would be mutch appreciated.😅

How to test the VOAC LED ring?

How do we test the IDEX LED board? Just 5V to the board or do we need a signal to turn them on? The camera and endstop are working, but I can't get the LEDs to come on. 😕...

Pwm on nidec ??

Does someone was able to get the pwm working on the nidec ? I know that the pwm is the blue on the nidec . That the doc is totally misleading. I've followed the documentation on the 4028 form ratirig page .setup the jumper on 5v on cncfan , adjusted the name of the pin for the octopus wiring based on their shema. I've adjusted the config and the wire so it doesn't blow at start or when the fan bar is at 0%. But as soon I add some percentage it full blow. It s like aon/ off for the moment?...

V-Core 4 IDEX - Can't configure T1

T0 appears twice in the Configurator, and gives an error at the "confirm your setup" stage saying T1 is not configured.

Solution:

(Working on same physical printer as @thekojent [VCore4 400] ) Reinstall of RatOS fixed bug. Printer had been run for a couple of weeks with only 1 print head while waiting for parts, don't know if that was a contributing factor....

"Invalid" in update manager. Having problems keeping system updated.

I had this problem previously on this same machine. I replaced the SD card, successfully updated everything (this was about a month ago). I haven't checked the machine tab until now. It's back to Invalid and I'm unable to soft recover. Is there something else I should try or just try a new SD card again? Vcore 4 hybrid...

Install options in RatOs 2.1.0 RC2 - no V-Core 4

Hi, I'm configuring RatOs for my new V-Core 4 500 build, and this machine is not listed as supported. Is there a link to a template for the neccessary printer.cfg file? I chose the V-core 3 given a lack of options, but noticed that the y-stop is in a different position on the Core 4, and i'm probably going down the wrong path. I read the documentation, but the Core 4 is not listed as a supported device https://os.ratrig.com/docs/introduction ...

you are looking at the 2.0 documentation. The 2.1 documentation has not been published yet. If you are using ratos-2.1 vcore4 is supported

Vaoc camera not working.

I hope I’ve posted this in the right place. I’m having a problem with the vaoc cam. For some time I’ve been trying to get it to work. I have the vaoc cam set up exactly as the commissioning guide says. The fan, led and end stop all work as they should. The cam connects but I only get a black screen. I have a webcam as well. This connects and streams no problem. I’ve gone to ratos.local:8080/webcam/webrtc which also gives me a black screen. When I go to ratos.local:8081/webcam/webrtc it streams my webcam no problems. Ive tried with lower resolution and frame rate. I’ve disconnected the webcam and deleted it from crowsnest in case there was a bandwidth issue. I’ve tried it on a different network in case there was issues with the router. I’ve tried different usb ports on the pi and hub. I tried it on port 8081 (and made the relevant changes in crowsnest). I’ve triple checked that everything is plugged in and wired correctly. Nothing I’ve tried has worked. Does anyone have any advice on anything I could try next as I’m fresh out of ideas....

Titl bed -issue with z-tilt

Hi guys, I just finished building my VCore4 500 and I'm currently commissioning it, but I'm running into a lot of trouble. I was able to play around a bit, move the print head, and melt some PLA to test the extrusion and the filament sensor. However, since I tried the Z-tilt function, I've been having issues. It stopped during the first attempts, saying that the value was increasing instead of decreasing. Now, whenever I try to home the Z-axis, it tilts like crazy and makes a lot of noise on the affected stepper motor. Where is the Z-tilt data stored? How can I reset it? Even if I relaunch the process, it always starts with a HOME XY and then tilts again. I tried removing the Z-tilt section from the printer.cfg, but the issue persists. It was working fine before I attempted the Z-tilt function....

cannot connect to pi ip.

after no success with 2 weeks of attempted calibration and vaoc led stopped working i thought id start again. Flash sd card. Now not connecting via ethernet ip. Can only connect to pi via ratos.local network. Thus no internet and no updates and no config. Tried 3 x diff sd cards. Put old install sd card back in and works. Tried diff raspi still no go. WTF is wrong with this stupid thing? :need: Cheers.

You are right man. I was talkng one thing and thinking another. Very embarrassed. Thats the one i originally installed. Its in my download folder somewhere. (new download has a 2 in it. lol). I searched and searched and could only find 2.02. That will be the problem. Thanks Blacky and ctbjdm_04135. Legends.

PID tune not working

I have a RatRig Vcore 3 that I just updated to RatOS 2 from V1. It was a complete refresh and flash of the boards.
