Newly created 400x400 here. i just printed a calibration cube. First layer is perfect, no trouble there. What im experiencing though is the sides of the cube are slanted. its not a 90 degree angle. maybe 89 degrees. its quite noticable. If i take a square along the side "Y" side or the "X" side, I can see its not square. What can i adjust? ideas? I've done a belt tensioning...and after adjustment, my mesh shows i'm now within .18... suggestions?...

what to select in printer.cfg?

hi everyone, setting up printer.cfg in ratos. at the #part cooling section. i have the hemera fan cooling the toolhead ( i think 4010? ) and i have a 5015 blower coolling the parts ( eva set up ). how do i know if it's a 25khz or 100hz fan for each?

Mysterious "Lost communication with MCU 'mcu'" error began occuring out of the blue

Hey Klippers, I have a v-core 3.1 500 that was operating flawlessly for ~200H of printing, when I began getting the "Lost communication with MCU 'mcu'" message mid-print, with no accompanying klipper / mainsail error message in the console. After about halfway through this entire past week of troubleshooting, the error would occur while the printer was sitting idle. A time or two the Mainsail console reported "Internal error on command:"G1"". Here is a brief description of my initial config, followed by the troubleshooting steps I've gone through to no avail....

specific printer.cfg for btt skr pro 1.2 ( not the generic one)

HI all, long story short, i blew a skr pro rail when i put the filament sensor plugs the wrong way vs the ones that came with the vcore 3.0 (different limit switches ), so i gave up for over a year. Now i'm back. I hooked up the new board ( same model ) plugged in everything except the filament limit switch ( too chicken for now ). I followed Ed's 3d tech video ( https://youtu.be/jAPedRDj5S0?si=K3uyzXc2Pz4TjcvF) and it was a big help although i'm doing klipper and mainsail ( not octoprint ). I got it installed on the Pi, flashed the pro ( following his instructions ), but it seems to me that the printer.cfg file that the moonsail is using is the generic-bigtree-skr-pro-1.2 found under klipper/config folder on the pi sd card ( using filezilla to see the folder structure ). This printer config obviously has no ratrig vcore 3.0 500 specific settings in it that i can work with to change the values to my specific set up. I watched Teaching Tech's The Rat Rig v-core 3 build gets serious! Part 3: Wiring, Klipper setup and first print ( https://youtu.be/8B12D_D1i0s?si=kdGT6dnRG-RQkTzO ) and he has a printer.cfg that has all of the presets made for my printer and board. Where can i get that specific printer.cfg, and the relevant .cfg files that i would need which would be called up by printer.cfg? Also, where would i put those files (like the specific hemera.cfg file ) in the current folder structure of the raspberry pi klipper install where the printer.cfg can call it up? After typing this, it got me thinking, if i use the ratos set up that teaching tech used and install it on an sd card, maybe i could pull the printer.cfg, and other .cfg's off of that and transfer it over, and i could also use it's folder structure and just edit the MCU and i should be good to go? maybe? my set up is...

Beacon Probe Causing Uneven First Layer?

Hello, I have a vcore 500mm and just installed a beacon probe. after running it my first layer was bad and seemed to be very inconsistent. Its high in areas and way to low in others. I can see the z axis moving when its printing so I know something is happening. Any advice on how to fix this? I attached an image of the first layer to show how some areas are fine and others are awful....

arc fitting problem crash mcu

Hi everyone... I noticed that when printing some round objects, with speeds of 500mm/s and high accelerations with arc settings, the klipper crashes... it gives me the error in the photo... I deactivate arc on the slicer and everything works perfectly... I set arc resolution to 0.1… too low?

homing issue

Hello When I try to home my Ratrig which is a 500mm build. The home z shows 450 and stops at 448. Upon reversing the direction of z motors it goes up and first error shows is no endstop for z and when I redo it after that it crashes on the tool head....

V minion heater bed on the fritz

Howdy everyone, my heaterbed out of no where started giving me issues, and updating all the firmware didn't work either. It takes roughly 5 full reboots to get the thermistor to register the temperature. I'm assuming the thermistor probe is just dying, but at the same time it doesn't fail once it starts working for a print. Anyone have a similar issue in the past? And if it is the probe dying, how much of a pain and $ and I looking at to fix it?

Z Tilt fails

Whenever i start z tilt procedure my right z motor stops working. I am able to do the homing procedure and i am able to run the following command flawlessly "STEPPER_BUZZ STEPPER=stepper_z2". I am kind of stuck now and wonder if anyone else here is able to resolve this? Cheers...

Question regarding changing thermistor sensor pin

Hi Y'all, I'm pretty sure that I fried the sensor circuit for the hot end thermistor on the BTT octopus V1.1 board. I'm trying to change the T0 pin from PF4 to PF5 to see if that circuit would fix it(Picture below). I'm very much a novice with klipper and octopus so forgive the basic questions. Is there a simple way to redefine TEMP_0_PIN in ratos or do I have to build a whole new octopus board firmware.bin with the new pin definitions?...

Cannot get a consistent first layer distance.

I've been running into this issue for a while, trying to calibrate my first layer using the first layer test. I'll run it, adjust/babystep until I have a value that I like, and save it. Then, when I run the same test again, same gcode, the print will start further away from the bed again. I never had issues with this on Klipper before. I've included my printer.cfg. Please ask any other questions you think will be relevant.

Getting More Consistent First Layer and Z Tilt Issue Related?

I'm having trouble getting a consistent first layer. I've had this problem before, I do the first layer leveling and get the z offset and I get a good first layer with the test print. But then when I go to print something the first layer is always bad and I get bad adhesion making the print fail usually. Sometimes it is so solid I can't get the print off and other times I just tap it and it'll pop right off. I keep lowering z offset as a result, but then the first layer becomes too or squishes too much leading to a non-flat layer. So then I increase the z offset to give it more room. It really is a pain, and then first layer height seems to impact it as well so I've started just using the same first layer height to try to make it more consistent. One thing I tried is I thought maybe there's a problem with the z-tilt so I checked all the motors and they corresponded correctly to the expected stepper drivers. I tried lowering the tolerance for z-tilt to 0.01mm instead of 0.02mm, but as a result it seems to fail multiple times with the reason that z-tilt is increasing after 4 tries or so. After a few tries it ends up with a tolerance of like 0.004mm and then it starts to print. So I don't know if that's indicative of a problem or what is going on and why it would be increasing. The pictures are from what I am getting now and what I was getting before, the blue is the more recent one. I tried multiple nozzles, I don't think it is clogged....

Thermistor wonky when N / L are switched

So my heatbed thermistor (orange) showed weird fluctuations, sometimes random, sometimes very regular. After a lot of troubleshooting, I noticed it went away when the 230V lines of the heater are not connected. Reconnecting them: wonky again. I checked all cabling (no change) and then had the idea to switch the plug of the printer around (so switching neutral and live), and now its gone as you can see on the second picture. So its fixed, but any ideas what was causing those fluctuations? Is that maybe an indication of a bad SSR or something? ...

I accidentally cracked a magnet.

Is it okay that it’s cracked like this? Will it work if I just add a drop of superglue to hold it together? Or do I need to just buy a replacement magnet. If I need to buy a replacement could you please provide a link for the magnet?

Heater extruder not heating at expected rate

I get this message: "Heater extruder not heating at expected rate See the 'verify_heater' section in docs/Config_Reference.md" I tried to follow the config_reference and put the values in printer.cfg, but now I get the message instantly when I heat hotend or do a PID calibration. Earlier it was just at random temperatures but I could reach target temperature by redo "target temperature" mutiple times (after reset firmware) - now it wont even start heating. What to do?...

V Minion bed heater issues

V Minion been working fine for months and 1000+ hours. Last week I tried to print and I got not heating errors... sure enough my bed isn't heating at all. Things I've tried: - reseated heater wires - confirmed thermistor is working (to the best of my abilities)...

Unable to extrude (new printer)

I am assembling 400 machine from ratrig standard kit and have yet to print. Motors and heaters and fans all work as expected. From Klipper screen, pressing the extrude button does not do anything Steps: Start machine. hot end is set at 200deg C. Klipper "load filament" and the gears turn on LGX Lite. filament advances. Press extrude or prime blob and nothing is seen. Retract and unload turn the extruder backwards and filament moves out of spool end of PTFE tubing. ...

4028 Fan weirdness

#fix-my-printer Bit of strangeness around my Delta FFB0412UHN 4-pin 12V 4028 fan. Its hooked up as documented here: https://os.ratrig.com/docs/guides/4028 It mostly works. 0% fan is off, 100% is jet engine. So far so good. But there are some strange things 1) It doesn't seem to come on until the percentage is about 7%. ...
