Need help with a 3-2-1 backup plan

I want to back up my PC files, Google Drive, Google Photos, and jellyfin library. I have my PC, a NAS from Ugreen, and Google Drive, so that satisfies the 3-2-1 criteria, it's just about finding a way to essentially mirror everything to all 3 locations. I've somewhat accomplished this by using Ugreen's built in software to sync my PC files to the NAS, and also to sync my Google Drive to my NAS....

Twitch HEVC 1440p Transcoding

Currently I have an 18 mbps connection and multistream at 1440p 6000 kbps av1 to youtube and 1080p 6000 kbps h264 to twitch. I would like to send 1440p hevc 7500kbps to twitch but obviously do not have the bandwith to send multiple video tracks to twitch. My question is does twitch support transcoding for partners in the hevc beta? I would like to send only the 1440p hevc video track. specs 9800x3d/rtx 4080/1440p monitor.

Purchased The Definitive Guide and need Help

Hello, I purchased the definitive guide and followed it perfectly, well, so I think. But I need help. Two things are happening when I record in 4k with my 5090 and my AMD 9950x3d I drop frames and when I stream to youtube horizontal at 4k I drop frames. Can someone help me figure out which setting is causing this? I didn't think with a 5090 and a AMD 9950x3d i would have any issues. Thanks in advance

Twitch Enhance Broadcasting settings w Youtube

I am trying to stream to twitch and youtube at the same time. I have the Atium multi stream plugin. According to my OBS settings Twitch is only going to do 1080p at 6k bitrate and automatically send the other video qualities right? I dont have access to 1440p at all in this case My OBS canvas is currently 1080p if I switch that to 1440p for my youtube streams i should be okay right? Or should I make youtube my primary stream and leave twitch as the lower quality via atium multi stream plugin instead?...

OBS Encoding Overloaded even on the fastest preset. Please help diagnose! (CPU: 1950x - GPU: 1080ti)

Used to stream on Twitch back in 2022 with no issues. Took a 3 year hiatus. Came back to stream and get "Encoding Overloaded" even on the fastest preset. I know my hardware is older, but I have a separate gaming pc. All my Threadripper is doing is encoding. I think it should be able to handle it, but I could be wrong.

"Static" noise when recording persistent color

I did now experiment with AV1 in OBs. previously I just used NVENC with a Bitrate of 60000-90000 for 4k (upscaled) 30 fps. For my first AV1 recording I just used CQP with a value of 20, no AQ, P6 and Two Passed (qarter Resolution). What I noticed in my footage is that in a very static screen, where nothing changes, there is quite a bit of static movement, in particular in a certain location (see circled part in screenshot, compare with video clip). I am not sure if this is considered "normal". I fiddled around with the settings, but small adjustments do almost nothing. Setting quality to 15 makes it a bit better, and AQ also makes it a bit better, and both combined are somewhat decent (file size triples). And its actually better than just setting Quality to 10. Alternatively I can of course set the bitrate to 60k-90k and its basically gone as well (with much bigger file sizes). But I don't quite get why. Doesnt this "static flicker" even use up additional space and whatnot? Are there areny other recommendations?...

Buying New PC Help: 4k Gaming, Multi-streaming and 2 x recordings

Hey folks, I'm looking to buy a new PC but wanted to check I'm not missing anything before buying! I'm looking for something that can game in 4k, while multi-streaming and recording / replay buffer 2 videos (one game, one cam recording). I'm thinking of going for the attached image. I downgraded the motherboard from the X870E as it only had 2 pcie slots and I'd prefer 3. Does everything look good or will I hit some bottlenecks in a few years?...

[SOLVED] l1techs dp repeater + hdmi splitter @ 1080p240hz

hi, regarding a ~4 year old video, https://youtu.be/xGseozkxe_8?t=306. it is mentioned that the l1techs dp repeater + hdmi splitter can do 1080p240hz, but i am having trouble with getting that to work. can it do that resolution through both the dp out and hdmi out or just the dp out? my monitor works through the dp out @ 240hz just fine but my capture card connected to the hdmi out is unable to capture anything unless i change my refresh rate to 144hz. my question is whether this is a limitation of the repeater or my capture card? so i know whether to get a capture card that can do hdmi 2.0 or not....

Adding music to zoom

Anyone have a recommendation for how to add music to a zoom meeting? My wife is doing virtual workshops and wants music in the background. I attempted using voicemeeter to combine the mic and Spotify into a single input track, but zoom is being annoying and it mutes the music whenever she or any of the viewers speak, even if I turn noise suppression to the original sound for musicians option

NVENC: Why does AVC look so much better compared to HEVC and AV1?

When the topic of local recordings come up, AV1 and HEVC are recommended over AVC everywhere. In my testings it seems like AVC does produce a way better looking picture with lower bitrates (134Mbps CQP 20) than HEVC or AV1 with higher bitrates (554Mbps CQP 5 / 215Mbps CQP 5). AVC = size 262Mb, 134Mbps CQP 20 HEVC = size 1,03Gb, 554Mbps CQP 5 AV1 = size 425Mb, 215Mbps CQP 5...

Multiple elgato facecams overloading my wife’s pc

My wife is going to start streaming and hosting some live seminars, and she has 4 cameras. They’re all Elgato Facecams Mk2. But if I try to plug all 4 of them in, I get warnings about overloading the usb interface. Even if I use a powered USB hub I can’t get all 4 working. Is this a problem with the PC itself or do I just need a better hub? I’m using this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0C84G7YJY?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

OBSs seems to buffer and make motion kinda jittery every 30 seconds.

Hi everyone. I'm running a 2 pc setup with 2 pretty powerful pcs, but I've been having an annoying issue for as long as I can remember and just never been able to resolve it. Basically, on the 2nd PC (streaming) when ever I stream or record, in motion every 30 seconds or so the motion gets kinda jittery for like 5 seconds and the returns to normal. So if I kinda pan around in a 360 motion, it'll be smooth for 30 seconds, but then the motion just goes a bit jittery for a few seconds and then returns to smooth. I'm not missing any frames due to rendering lag, but theres a definite almost "buffering" that kinda occurs. It's the sane if I just use the 2nd PC to capture the 2nd PC gameplay rather than via the gaming PC so I know it's nothing to do with the elgato 4k X.
The streaming PC has 64gb ddr4, 5900x, rtx 3090, with everything installed on my.2 gen4 ssd's. While it's not cutting edge the cpu only gets used around 2% in the obs stats window. Would anyone know what would cause this?...

OBS recording settings help please

Hello, I was recommended to come here and ask, but was not exactly sure where to ask. I am streaming on Twitch, and would like to record my streams. Currently, I had some recording settings, but it would average about 1.5 GB per 5 minutes or so, and quality was noticeably degraded, but not terrible. It was suggested to me to just use Simple mode, and indistinguishable mode. The quality is better, but now I am getting about 6-7 GB for about 11 minutes. If I stream for four hours per stream or so, that seems like a lot of space. I can show current settings, or whatever is needed, but I'd like help determining the best settings to use please, for good quality, and decent file size. Thanks...
