Possible to offload LOD gen to clients or disable LOD gen on server?

I've installed DH on a modest mini-pc fabric server mc v 1.21.5 that I host a vanilla SMP on for friends. Previously, I progenerated all the LODs for a large radius around spawn on my desktop cpu and distributed the lods in a zip file to the players. I was quite excited to find out about server side support so we can skip that step, however when I installed DH on my server I noticed the CPU:...

Is there any way to install DH on realms?

I tested it and it works when I manually load the chunks. I'm looking to install the mod to the realm so that it auto-loads the chunks outside my render distance. I'm not sure if this is possible or not. Can someone clarify this? (My friend and I are playing on a realm. We have a nice world on 1.21.8. We are not using any content mods, only mods that improve fps, DH, and shaders. Since we already have a lot in this realm, we don't want to leave it.)...

how to fix double shifting

whenever i play minecraft and try to shift it double shifts, i think it is because of sticky keys settings but i dont know how to fix it.

Are More Accurate LODs for Partial Blocks Planned in Distant Horizons?

Hello, while playing with Distant Horizons, I’ve been wondering - is there any option to enable higher-quality LOD models for things like fences, bamboo, lily pads, and other partial blocks? Currently, all of them get reduced to a single full block in LODs, which can look jarring and break immersion, especially when using a low render distance Is there any plan to improve this or add more accurate LODs, at least for closer levels? I think more detailed geometry for fences or bamboo would make a noticeable difference up close...

Low Quality Chunks

since Dh is on 1.21.6 now I changed from a similar mod that was giving me problems. Thing is this is how it looks, those chunks are close enough that default Minecraft should load them, only reason it doesn't is because our friend group is cheap and we use aternos for the server. My question is how do I up the quality. For mods I have Dh, Sodium, Essential which we gave up on because we aren't all on at the same time and im using fabric...

Smooth Chunk Transition in Distant Horizons Still Available in Fabric 1.21.7?

Hi, It seems that in one of the recent updates, Distant Horizons added a smooth transition between vanilla chunks and those loaded by the mod. I'm currently playing on Fabric version 1.21.7. Could you tell me if this feature is still available and where I can find or enable it?
Solution:
bloop had a DH related update with better support recently, but idk what it added exactly

Distant Horizons and Incompatible Shaders

I have tested down to Noble Shaders from the list of "compatible" provided on the Mod's github page and none of them can properly render water behind glass in 1.21.6 and up. The problem is present in both Multiplayer and Singleplayer. All shaders seem to try and render the DH water in front of the glass. Some shaders don't render DH water at all. Some don't render any water behind glass in or out of vanilla render distance. And there were a few that couldn't render fog behind glass either. I'm not sure what changed after 1.21.6, but whatever was changed seems to have caused all of the most popular shaders listed as "compatible" to break. The only mods you need to recreate these problems are Sodium(0.6.13), Iris(1.9.1), and any version of DH which is compatible with 1.21.6, 1.21.7, or 1.21.8. Then use Version 0.16.14 of the Fabric Loader to load said mods and you theoretically should be able to recreate the problem with glass, water, and fog. ...

Distant horizons lods glitch.

1. when using shadows there is a bug where most of the lods are covered in shadows even when exposed to sun. 2. When turning transparency for water to fake it becomes black, when turning transparent it the water dissapears and renders the ground beneath. Done using a integrated amd gpu on laptop the shader itself provides little to no problems...

Keeping memory under control

I'm hoping to launch a small private smp where up to 10 players might play concurrently. I am testing the performance of DH-Plugin and noticing that even in a world where all LOD data was pregenerated, just flying around the map toward places where LOD hasn't been sent to me yet makes the server gobble up my memory and cause signifigant GC lag. Why is just sending data to the client so resource intensive? If this is how the server behaves with one player, I'm not sure whether it can handle five or ten people. Especially 5-10 people who will actually be modifying terrain instead of just receiving lod data. Everything is fine without DH-Plugin, by the by. I'm not hitting into the crashing mentioned by the FAQ either, it's just frequent lag spikes caused by gc https://spark.lucko.me/FcPfHRKFvM - Server has two dedicated threads of a AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, I can get more threads if I really need them for this plugin but ideally two should be enouggh...

getting a error message when loading a shader that is compatible

Any sodium forks for forge that work with any post 2.3.0-b DH versions?

I've used Magnesium, Embeddium and Rubidium, and all seem to have issues with post 2.3.0-b versions of DH (2.3.0-b included) - Magnesium works alright, except it makes all entities flicker (Or completely dissapear when Distant Generation is disabled) - Same for Rubidium - Embeddium causes the game to either close without a crash report, or be mostly blackscreened (See picture)...
Solution:
the best solution would be to use a more recent minecraft version

DHS plugin not sending LODs to client

Hello, I am running a paper 1.21.1 server with DHS 0.10.0 and when I connect with a fabric 1.21.1 client with DH 2.3.3-b I get this message in the server log (.txt file attached). The server also shows "Server support shared level keys" as you can see on the screenshot linked. This error seems to prevent my client to get the LODs from the server as the server is not recognizing I am using DH. ...
Solution:
I suspect you have edited and broken your config file on the server side
