Question about Steam

Hi, I don't really need any help just answers to questions, but I can't find any other place to post my questions, and I couldn't find any answers to all of my questions on the FAQ on the website or on Discord unless I'm missing something. Is it possible to use Heroic Games Launcher to launch Steam games (this is my primary question), and also to launch non-GOG/non-Epic games, like any random standalone Windows games via Wine etc or any random Linux native games like SuperTuxKart? It seems like it's possible, but I wanted to double check 100%....

after update to 2.17.2 proton does not start

after update to 2.17.2 proton does not start. Usualy to turn on any game on my os ( mx linux fluxbox ) thats form epic ( not native ) i see terminal for idk 1/10 of sec and then wait until game starts but after this update it doesn't happen and no it starts proton for 1s but than it stops ( i use gamemode but no gamescope ) i need help plz

GTA V Enhanced Rockstar Issue

Hello Everytime I try to run GTA V with command lines for dinput8 to get my trainer mod to work or do anything to make mods work the game loads but the Rockstar Logo spins till the message GTA V is currently running message pops up.

Cannot reinstall Witcher 3: Complete Edition GOG on Steam Deck.

Game install worked correctly on first try (installed on SD card). Proton version GE-9-26. Uninstalled and cleared all local files including prefixes. Cannot install game a second time. Game downloads and install fails....

Neverwinter Nights 2 not launching

Yesterday, Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete stopped launching all of a sudden. I've tried with a new prefix, a different compatibility layer and a reinstall of my OS (Nobara 42), but nothing seems to help. Steam not launching

Hey! I have installed steam through heroic on macOS. I launch steam and it says it is "playing". But the steam app is nowhere to be seen. When playing GTA5 Enhanced, I encountered problems configuring DirectX 12. 游玩GTA5增强版在配置 DX12 遇到问题。

I configured the paid version of CrossOver to run GTA5E according to the tutorial, and enabled the D3DMetal and ESyne options for the target container. I added the Fake EPIC TURE parameter. I also downloaded GPTK3 Beta from Apple's developer website and used it in CrossOver. But GTA5E still prompts me that I don't have DirectX 12. I don't know where the problem is. I hope someone can help me take a look. Running Steam and CS2 via Heroic on external ssd

I am trying to install Counter Strike 2 and other windows games on my external ssd in heroic launcher.. but i am facing issues while installing steam. 1. its showing- unexpected checksum of downloaded file while i was instaling wine mono (which it said was necessary. 2. I wanna store as much of it in an external drive as possible, as i am running very low on internal storage.. 3. Also can anyone help me out with installing Counter Strike 2, what are the wine requirements, wine prefixes and game arguements to have smooth gaming on Mac Book Pro M2 with 8gb ram. ...

Fallout 1 worked but then stopped launching the next day...related to DXVK 2.5.3 and above

The game installed successfully a few days ago (7/8/25) and I played it for multiple hours that day. Then it mysteriously stopped launching the next day - I'd click the launch button but the fallout game menu wouldn't even load. I've attached the log file with verbose logging enabled. I had the 'auto install dxvk' option enabled. I believe this was the issue. In the attached log it shows DXVK is at version 2.7. I have no idea what version it was at when the game was initially installed and was working. Using winetricks I set it to use DXVK 2.5.2 and the game works again (I had tried 2.5.3 but it didn't work with that version.) I was assuming the main problem in the log file was this:...

Clicking 'play' in steam doesn't launch the game?

Hey! I'm trying to launch a game through steam, but I keep coming across an issue. Whenever I hit the 'play' button on the game within steam, it says that it's running for about fifteen seconds, then the button turns back to the green 'play' one and it doesn't open. Solution:

I am a little confused you say "the problem is that Steam isn't running," but you describe the issue like steam is running just not launching games. Secondly try changing the setting in setting, like turning off esync or msync or DVXK or on if their off. Or changing Wine from crossover to GPTK and seeing if CS 2 runs. There might not be a setting that will work for every game, so you might need to change setting now and again. There was over with Whisky.app ( now defunked) a setting for CS2 that might still work now, not harm in trying. Hope this helps....

genshin impact not launching on steam deck Gaming Mode

it launches just fine in desktop mode but i cant get past the launcher in gaming mode 1: i've tried adding it to steam through heroic and then launching it like that which opens the launcher but then doesnt do anything after i launch the game (black screen forever) 2: i've also tried adding heroic to steam then launching it through there, the launcher still works but opening the game just minimizes the launcher and loads forever (heroic still says the game is open so it's not crashing) i can get past the launcher "just fine" on desktop mode (cant close the game without it freezing my screen tho)...

Fall guys not showing in Heroic on steam deck

As the title describes, Epic Games Stores item page is showing I've purchased Fall Guys (don't know when, must have been ages ago) but it's not showing in heroic, when other games are. What can I do to check?

go to settings > logs > legendary/epic, it should show the list of games it detects in your account or an error message, or something
