temperature on one toolhead reads strange
I recently had to take off the toolheads on an IDEX vc4, and when putting back both were having crazy out of range values for both extruder temperatures. I assumed wires were bad, as it appeared to be reading random analog values from the pin (which I would expect when no connection exists) so I figured I accidentally screwed up the wires whne reconnecting. I had to replace the thermistors at some point as I had cut the wires too short during the initial build so figured now would be the time. I...

Move Out of Range Error
Recently Updated a RatRig Core V 300 IDEX and it is no longer is able to print, each time encountering some various "move out of range" error. I have messed with position_max and position_endstop under dual_carriage as well as the parking positions for T0 and T1. Im not familiar with RatRigs or RatOS. Attached is .cfg and screen shot.
stuck trying to find hotspot on pi
I finally got the firmware flashed to an SD card. Had to keep using smaller and smaller cards until one would work. Inserted in pi and conncected to control board and powered up via USB. Ive tried my existing 4GB pi as well and the 2GB that shipped with the kit but neither created a hotspot that i could find. I have Spectrum as an ISP and getting into the router is done via there web app so I haven't found a way to directly access the router by entering the IP address so any router changes migh...
Solution:
Got it!! I had a solid red LED on the Pi through the whole process so I thought power was good. Last ditch effort before bed I tried a different USB cable and it booted up and made a hotspot straight away. Never trust an indicator lamp. I work with power for a living and live by that motto but my brain never made the jump working with electronics. Thanks for the reponses.
How do you add a new toolboard into RatOS?
I'm interested in using the LDO Orbitool 02S. It's not in RatOS yet. I understand there are configuration files for it that can somehow be added to RatOS to make it a menu option. Can somone tell me how to doo this?

I have two Coprint systems, one I have been able to connect to my V-core 3.1 and get to function. I have it running under RatOS, but had to remove much of the RatOS code, to get it working. I want to send my second system to someone who could get it fully functional within RatOS. Let me know if you are interested. can one update klipper in ratos?
In trying to resolve an issue I am having with orbiter filament sensors I discovered I was trying to use a parameter in my
printer.cfg that is not supported by the version of klipper running in ratos. Is it possible to update the running version of klipper in ratos gracefully?
As an aside, the issue I have with orbiter filament sensor is it gets phantom button presses and tries to load/unload filament during a print. I believe it's configured to handle a clog when the button is pressed while printing. I originally thought it was defective unit from RatRig but the replacement I got has the exact same issue. And then it happened a couple times on the sensor on the other toolhead. I was hoping to add a debounce_delay to both the filament_switch_sensor and gcode_button entries as the klipper reference docs says these are available options and it seems like they could help in running more smoothly. However it seems that they are newer and not suported in the version with ratos....Idex400 - Offset issues X Axis
Dear all .... I still got an x axis offset of about 0.4 - 0.5mm in x axis direction regardless what I'm trying 🙁 First things first - I triple checked ALL belt length - both heads, both hybrid .... they are exactly same in lenght - also in the clips - same amount of teeth.
Tensioning is done with GATS at 28NM ... erverything is perfect aligned .... even without skew compensation the printer is in a very good shape.
I'm really frustrated meanwhile .... I did the whole setup process a couple of times .... all the results are "very good" but it always ends up in a x-axis offset 🙁

Hello, I have a ratrig V-core 4 500. It started to fail and now it doesn't start. If i turn on the power, the toolhead fans starts to blow but never connect with my PC. It worked fine before. Any ideas how to solve this? Thank you in advance.
RatOS on Orangestorm Giga with BTT Octopus Pro + Beacon + TMC5160
Hi, since we have a Vcore4 and are really happy with RatOS, and also want to get a better control of our Orangestrom Giga, we are thinking about replacing the stock electronic and using RatOS for the Giga. Unfortunately documentation about using a custom printer in RatOS is limited, so I would like to get some information for best practice. Ratos support for simplify3D
Hello all, so I worked on a print temp tower on simplify3D. When attempting to print , ratos advised that this isn’t a suggested or rather a supported slicer, to use the supported slicers. Is their anyway I can use simplify3D or am I SOL?

Balena Etcher doesn't work for me but Raspberry Pi Imager does.
This is my first RatOS install. I tried Balena Etcher as suggested on the latest version of RatOS, as I've used it with other images. I tried 2 different brand new 32gb SanDisk Ultra SD cards on two different computers and all of them got the same error at the end of the verify and woudn't work. I downloaded Raspberry Pi Imager and it worked without a problem. Not sure what's up with RatOS and Balena Etcher.
Printer Cannot Complete A Job, Always "lost communication w/ MCU"
Looking for any help / guidance with problem I've been having for couple days now. Whenever I start a print job, sometimes it could be minutes, sometimes it could be an hour, klipper will always shutdown with a "lost communcation w/ mcu" error. It's been an issue with toolheads, I've seen both T0 and T1 instances, it's been Beacon. Can Sonar be installed?
It seems that Sonar breaks the RatOS configurator, analisys and VAOC services. Ratos doctor doesn't fix. They un-break only if it is uninstalled (deep-purged actually). I am reading that they disabled it in an old alpha because "it breaks the hotspot" (but it's breaking the configurator?). It did work in solving my wifi disconnection problems, but having no VAOC is a bigger problem. Has anyone managed to make it work?
IDEX Toolchange Deretraction
Hi all, I am trying to do a multi material print with my vcore4 in IDEX, T0 = PETG @ 260C and T1 = PA6 w/ carbon fiber @ 285C. I quickly discovered that T0 will not properly extrude after resuming printing following a tool change. The extruder makes clicking sounds and doesn't extrude for maybe 5 seconds before resuming normal extrusion. T1 doesn't do this after resuming, I'm guessing because the carbon PA6 is less sensitive to heat creep.
I initially tried various wipe tower settings with mixed results but that doesn't address the root cause of the extrusion issue. I also tried lowering the T0 temp from 260C all the way to 230C and the issue was still present.
After some research it seems that this is due to heat creep and can be addressed with a ~20mm retraction before the tool head is parked. I changed the default IDEX macro settings in printer.cfg for retraction/deretraction to 20mm, but it did not fix the problem due to the tool change deretraction happening immediately after the tool head is parked, rather than immediately before resuming printing as expected....
Klipperscreen missing macros
Anyone know why Klipperscreen would be missing a significant number of macros that I would see in mainsail? Specifically, things "Load Filament" and "Unload Filament" are not visible in Klipperscreen macros list. Even going to the settings there to see what is visible and what is not visisble, they (Load/Unload Filament) are not choices, as well as a significant number of other macros are not showing up there no the options in Klipperscreen macros.
