When you're working

[2023-12-12 03:54:18 PM] : When you're working with clients as a developer/consultant, is there a good way to nudge your client to do a bit more sales or marketing? I've had those conversations with clients many times before, but they often don't get very far. I think there's an opportunity to help them more if I could help them realize the importance of sales/marketing, but at the same time, it's kind of difficult to convince people to change their approach to building products and to nudge them to focus more on understanding pain and connecting with their target audience than thinking about features. Specially now after doing 30x500, it became very obvious that this product-first approach is very risky. ...

[2023-12-10 06:06:31 AM] : I recently decided to get back into 30x500 as I finally started to position my little agency and work out plans to grow it a bit, so it is not completely dependant on me alone. Now it’s my turn to define the audience - I know this is not forever and not a big deal. But i would please need help from someone more experienced if my train of thoughts makes sense: 1. The service offering of our agency is (wordpress) webdesign and web development....

Should I continue with the course or pause and double down on safari and posting ebombs? If the next section is about the product.. I feel like I'm miles away from knowing the audience well enough to know what product to create.

[2023-11-16 05:51:58 AM] : A mention of Black Friday in another channel got me thinking. What's the best way to do a Black Friday sale? I've been thinking about doing a sale for that weekend, but I'm not sure if it's best to start promoting it in advance or what? What's worked for others in the past?

I am working my way

[2023-11-15 11:45:19 PM] : I am working my way through the course and noticed that emails were collected, though there was no mention of GDPR / the California privacy acts or whatever. I copied a privacy policy from another place that seemed fairly reputable, though it could be good to supply a template as part of the course after getting a lawyer to review- even if provided as an as-is basis under a disclaimer. How did other people deal with this? I guess maybe that could be a pain that someone could solve with a subscription wordpress plugin to target common uses like you have an an ebomb site, though I am not sure I have the time for more side quests at the moment...

[2023-11-14 03:52:29 PM] : Hello. I hope this is the right channel for my words here. I feel a bit lost. I started on 30x500 about 2 years ago. At that time, I needed some money. What happened is that my 30x500 project landed me a job. I couldn’t say no. I’m super happy that it happened, but now, 2 years later, I’m not where I wanted to be. All my eggs are in one basket (hourly work), and I’m not having any passive income. My 30x500 project was focused on email marketing. The job at the agency gave me a chance to learn a lot about this field. But now I’m realizing how vast this field is. The content that I have been writing was good, but there’s no specific persona I was writing it for. Email marketing has so many different parts (designers, marketers, copywriters) that I feel like I don’t have a good sense of direction. Maybe the best way is to start watching the 30x500 course videos and see if what I did makes sense. I’m a bit unsure and would like to get some direction. Thank you...
