Export all users photos to my own server
Love using ente and having family plan really makes it easy for all of us to share albums and have personal storage.
I'm a bit overcautious and would like to have a local copy of all the photos on my nas just to have. Is there a way to export the photos from all users and and albums....
Easiest way to download all my photos onto my device from Ente, without re-uploading duplicates?
I'd like to download all my photos onto my device as most of my photos on Ente are from previous phones, what would be the best way to download them all so they're stored on my device? Would it be a simple case of selecting all then pressing download and waiting, or perhaps going onto the desktop app and exporting the data then moving it into my device storage with a USB drive?

I know there is an option to find duplicates, but I believe it only finds exact duplicates. It would be nice to find cropped and resized versions...
Assigned photo to person will not render in People view on mobile
On Android 16. I have about 5 or 6 people who's assigned image will not show up in the People. Instead, the swirling/spinning circle just goes on forever. I've tried changing the image or reset the person and that does not resolve it. 5 of the 6 instances, there is only 1 image of the person in my account, 1 of the 6 has more than 5 images of that person.
It's only in the People view, the image shows up in individual photos or as a filter in an album, etc.
Desktop the assigned image shows....
Can't remove picture from album
If I go into my "camera" album, then select all pictures that are part of another album (via their "tag") and try to remove one of them, the loading message for removing the picture from the album is endless and it will never work.

Metadata missing after continous sync of shared album
A friend shared an album with me and right now the only way to truly "own" the photos is to download them and re-upload them into a new album. Interestingly, the "continuous sync" seems to already pick up on shared albums. I just took these files and re-uploaded them via the browser (to add a "tag" for my friend to remember where the photos came from). It seems that photos work, but the .mp4 are all stripped from the meta-data (date & location being the important ones). In addition, they all have broken thumbnails.
If I check the broken file in the shared album, metadata (including date and location data) is intact and all good. I checked and the files' metadata on the backup folder on windows and they are already missing there. The important pattern I see is that they are all .mp4 files....

Thought I could just backup my phone, but when I tried to access Authenticator it asked for recovery code which I don't know where I saved

Smart Albums: Privacy & Security of Photos
Hello,
Pardon my ignorance of how Ente Photos works, but I am curious about the privacy and security of my photos in Ente Photos after reading your blog post: https://ente.io/blog/photos-v1.2/in where it is announced that Ente Photos "now has the ability to add photos of people automatically to your albums" (Smart Albums).
So the question is, how exactly is this being done? Using some type of AI in the cloud to process the photos? Or is it all done locally on my device? I guess my concern is that if it is being done off-device by some AI in the cloud that there is a potential that my photos aren't really private and secure....
Thumbnail Error!
I’ve uploaded my photos from proton drive to Ente due to storage concerns. After that, I’ve noticed something unusual. Various coloured strips took place of photo based thumbnails. I want to know the reason behind this and how i can fix this issue. Shockingly, the thumbnails for videos were appearing. Why is that so? The files were of a usual format and not any other absurd format. Kindly help me resolve this issue.

Hello, is it planned to support top shots uploaded via ente? It is not the case currently when my phone syncs, but when I imported my google photos data the topshots were included and ente was able to show them. Is it a bug?

Hello, I synced my photos with the ente app, but I wanted to also include photos stored with google photos. If I import my google takeout archive to ente, will there be duplicates?
Ente Photos Not Recognizing User Email
My email address isn't being recognized "xx" as a registered user on mobile, while I'm logged in on desktop with said email.
Migration Confusion & Support
Hey team:
I’d set up ente for my partner on android, and locally deleted a bunch of large files.
We then migrated his data to iOS, but the Move to iOS app messed up the photo folders (and Ente handles folders in a seemingly intuitive way - perhaps because of how iOS organises folders - I HATE the be gallery app on iOS but oh well). So I don’t know what folders to select. I also don’t know if ente will detect that a particular photo has already been backed up?...
Folders that are hidden disappear
After the most recent update, it appears albums set to hidden disappear forever and don't appear in the hidden section. I tried making an empty album and hiding it before adding photos, I tried adding photos and then hiding it, nothing is working.
The album just...vanishes...

Leave Ente running in the background ?
Hello, is there a way on Samsung to leave Ente running in the background even if deleted from open apps? Because when I try to open a photo from my sms, I get an error saying that Ente has crashed (it's when the App is closed and so it can't open the photo with Ente).
I've already disabled battery optimisation in the app settings....
Editing photos doesn't really update + misleading
Hi, I tried to make a photo with my phone, sync it to Ente, then edit it with my phone's app, save, and sync again. My Ente app showed the edits as if they synced! But the website never got the updated version.
So there are two different interfaces to Ente with different pictures: my phone shows the updated one, the website does not.
(my context: I'm making a photo album and I want to upload first edit later. e.g. blur stuff. Copies aren't as good for that because I'd have to hunt down the originals and delete them)...
Lock Button Ignored on macOS
Hey, just wanted to point out something with the Auth app on macOS.
The lock button doesn’t seem to work if the device lock option is already set up. Even after enabling something like Touch ID or a password, clicking the lock icon doesn’t actually lock the app. It just stays open like nothing happened....
